Started replaying FF7R again now that the ps5 patch is released, and I have to say: wow.
I was planning on playing on 4k but after seeing how bloody smooth the game plays at 60 fps I said screw it.
The low-res textures are fixed, the Limit Breaks are just gorgeous, and the Summons and their summoning casting sequences gave me a little bit of a nerdgasm. Increased fidelity across the board.
It's just a great experience right now with the smoothness. And lets not forget that the random NPCs have actual detailed faces now!

I've noticed even with maxed out graphics it still runs ridiculously smooth. It feels like 60 fps even though it's technically 30.Started replaying FF7R again now that the ps5 patch is released, and I have to say: wow.

Well, i've only played old nintendo games like ocarina of time, majoras mask and mario 64, so i guess you get what you pay for. The rest? I'm not into FPS and i dropped assassins creed after the second game. They have as much of a forgiveness threshold as Nintendo has, what with Nintendo making the same Zelda game for... *checks notes* 26 years. The same Mario games for 35. The industry allows it. However many Call of Duties, Battlefields, and Assassin's Creeds etc. People like to know what they're getting.
That said, while it has the same aesthetic, its gameplay looks to introduce many new things, at least new in terms of the Souls series. Mounted combat. Open world. Multiplayer open world. Likely a much more cohesive story with George R.R. Martin partially at the helm.
Really wouldn't call it the same old shit.
Anyway, the most important question for combat improvements is: are they going to shoehorn PvP, especially invasions, into the game yet again? If yes (and considering their past M.O. probably, not to mention the fans expectations) then if there are any improvements, there won't be many. Regardless, maybe it won't be the EXACT same old, but i've had enough of dark souls and souls-like games to last a lifetime.

Yeah, the PS5 version of FF7R is impressive. I keep stopping to admire the amount of detail throughout the game world - especially the lighting effects and the way in which the lights reflects off of puddles and metallic surfaces. I'm not touching the DLC until I get through the main game for a second time. I'm also doing every side quest this time around, too.
I just reached the Collapsed Expressway on my latest playthrough. It didn't look terrible on the PS4, though I can't deny that everything just looks better on the PS5.
*People stall the loot rolls for hair like always*
Me: I rolled 99

Every time lol.
I'm SUPER excited for Battlefield 2042 this year, and a good month before EW! Been waiting for a Battlefield game like that for too long.. I know exactly what is going to be holding me over that last hurdle until EW! It's going to be a good end of this year for me, that's for sure.

I don't think I've ever played a Battlefield game before, but I may have to make an exception with 2042. It looks amazing, even to someone who's never actually been a fan before. I'll admit though I haven't really been that impressed by E3 so far outside of a few games. Think the one I'm most excited about is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. lol Hoping Square-Enix and Nintendo come in hot to carry the event.I'm SUPER excited for Battlefield 2042 this year, and a good month before EW! I've been waiting for them to go back to modern or do a near-future/future Battlefield for a LONG time. Battlefield 4 was the last time I actually enjoyed a Battlefield game. I wasn't really into BF1, and I didn't even play the WW2 one. This looks pretty insane! Don't think it has a singleplayer story, but I never played shooters for that. If anyone wasn't already aware, I'm a big shooter fan, and I love PvP, so this is right up there for me!I don't think I've ever played a Battlefield game before, but I may have to make an exception with 2042. I haven't kept up with E3, just this Xbox showcase, mostly because of Bethesda. I don't really play that many types of games, to be honest. I only have two things releasing this year I'm actually super excited for, and that's Battlefield 2042, and Endwalker of course. Back 4 Blood, I'll probably buy too though, I'm glad the wait for EW won't be as bad this Fall! Anything coming out right after EW though... I'll be busy.
