Finally got around to beating Dad of War. Not sure why I never finished it before, probably just got sidetracked in another game and just never got back to it until now.
Plus side, now I can go straight into the sequel.

Absolutely amazing story on BOTH of them. You will like it.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

A couple of little parts kept annoying me just because I'm familiar with Norse mythology and I kept spotting the foreshadowing. For example.....
.....I pegged the Stranger as Balder pretty much immediately, which then made the purpose of the mistletoe arrows pretty obvious.
The Gullveig sidequest also stuck out as soon as I caught the name.
But overall it was a very good story. It was nice seeing Kratos grow from the raging bastard he was in the old games and actually try to be a person. Also nice that he's not very good at it and has to grow into it and actually work at it, it feels more organic than just suddenly being a good dad. And Atreus is actually highly useful in combat, so he avoids the usual pitfalls of escorts. Looking forward to Ragnarok.

My husband bought it for the PC a few months ago and has barely dipped into it.
I'm not really into Norse lore but apparently, they did a decent job of it. "The Wisdom of Odin" on youtube did a lore breakdown on how accurate it was. (for the 2nd game) It might have spoilers but if you don't care; it was a good watch.
I need to stop being lazy and finish Xenoblade chronicles 2/3,FF9 and tales of Vesperia.

Holiday family visitation is finally over.
I love my family, and I love the time with them, and I even miss them a little bit. BUT THANK GOD. I have my place to myself again. Phew.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore

I can't believe this...
One of my FC mates randomly gave me 3 million to gamble to get a house plot with, and I decided to befriend them on a more personal level - no, of course not in the hopes that they'll give more gil, but out of gratitude and they seemed a fun person in general. Found out that they were in my country for 4 years, studied at a school I went to perform for a music competition, and lived in an area super close to my old college! It's such a huge coincidence, almost providence that it happens!
