Got pulled through all of the Dynamis zones and mega boss fights in FFXI today. I'd done all but Tavnazia back in days of yore. Was kinda funny, the mega boss to Qufim still requires even Master Level people to use the special items that remove his regen and -DT.

Dreamland Dynamis had way less story than I expected. It basically boiled down to Diabolos telling me, "Yo dawg, this is Prishe's dream." But he referred to her as, "A girl you know well." Then basically told me I have to fight back the evil that pervades his realm of Dynamis forever if I don't want him to kill her.

Was hilarious to see my friend one shot the Dynamis Lord in regular Dynamis. He came out, thumping chest speech in the log. Then he got shot with a black hole, and he kneeled instantly. She shot that son of a gun for 84,000 some odd damage. It was beautiful.

Then she left to nap, and I had free reign of the place. Got my fragment and necropsyche. Went to the, "Lair of the True Dragon" and got Excalibur. Then I hauled off to Al'taieu and killed the Jailer of Justice.

I loved Dynamis! It was one of the few events I could consistently run with my LS due to timing woes.

But one of the most memorable runs was when I killed the entire event within the first few minutes. D: My LS always had me dualbox my WHM and COR, and this one time my COR went rogue and decided to auto-run straight into the mobs at the very start of Xarc and spawned all the things. Had some very unhappy people that day.

It feels weird going into the old zones and soloing things now. Does Dynamis-Divergence have any of the old feel to it?

I haven't been to Dynamis Divergence yet, but that was their intent. I know its mega bosses take more than a few people, but my brother farms it for gil with his friend duo with their dual box characters 2 or 3 days a week. It's currently only the city zones, and its major focus is getting clears of the zones so you can upgrade relic armor to item level +3 variant. I believe it also drops moldy weapons, which are used as base weapons by crafters now to make the 2100JP weapons which are this mixture of really gaudy blue + red. They are all insanely powerful when augmented, some of them putting Relics, Mythics, and Aeonics to absolute shame. Of course, to even wield them, you have to have Master stars for the job (hence the 2100JP).

I'm on a "fresh" character, reliving nostalgia and recording it all in an LP format, so I won't be there for a while yet. My character is right on the cusp of the 75 era ending currently, able to access some of the level 80 Weaponskills with merits/Sea Torques. Just have the last few fights of ToAU, then WoTG, and the ACP/Moogle/Shantotto add on quests to do. Then I absolutely must break my level cap(though I will break it first if I actually finish meriting every single merit category).

As far as old Dynamis stories go, I never wiped a Dynamis myself. However, the people pulling wiped whatever group I was in at all the common wipe points. Had a total wipe to the Death House in Windurst. Had a total wipe to the "Demon Wall" in Dynamis Xarcabard (it was just a huge line of demons). Total wipe in Dynamis Jueno due to too many BSTs pulled at once and having their pets paralyga the alliance too much. I think the only zones I never had a wipe in were San d'Oria, Bastok, and Beaucedine.

    Ahh Dynamis, the memories...

I got my clear of PotD today. Never again, it's far too long for its own good.

    Trophy picture here.

Ugh...why do people insist on not bathing? Had a dude come in that just...reeked. Like it lingered everywhere he went and he just wanted to waltz up and down ever inch of my store. Now the place reeks of Febreeze and rotten meat.

If it makes you feel any better, I once crossed paths with a frequent homeless man that shopped at my old store years ago. He was quite overweight, almost never bathed, wore a blue plaid overshirt and a bright yellow speedo. We called him Speedo Man whenever he was in the store shopping.

We had no idea where he got his money. Or why he didn't bother to get any sort of soap to wash himself with. All we knew was that he REEKED. Like burn your nosehairs and you struggled to keep from wretching kind of reek. It was twice as bad whenever it was summer and temps would rise, as he would ride his bike and sweat on the way to the store.

He once passed me in the Deli while I was waiting to get something for lunch. Some lady tried to ask me where something was, and I caught a horrendous wiff of Speedo Man. I could only cough in reply that 'I don't know,' before walking away trying not to hack up a lung.

When someone is homeless and smells it's almost to be expected. They don't have the ability to catch a shower as often as we can. However when I know the dude/dudette has a home and yet they still reek is when I judge. I've only had to kick out someone once and that was because other customers were complaining. I took him to the side and explained it...tried to make it less embarrassing for them then it already was.

The area I had to work in, last I checked had several homeless shelters that offer shower stalls for them to use. I'm not sure why he never bathed to at least rid himself of the reek. I'm still not sure as to why he would buy the expensive stuff like ice cream. He was polite, nice, and at least buttoned up his shirt before coming in, so we really never had any grounds to kick him out of the store due to the stench.

The people that shopped at my old store didn't seem to genuinely care or were just too high to notice. The ones that did notice the stench more often than not gave him a wide berth.

I did feel bad for the cashiers that had to do checkout with him. According to one I had talked to a while ago, he took wads of money out of the fanny pack he wore just above his speedo, and even the money had an odor to it, like it had been sitting in places that were best left untouched. It was because of that encounter that almost every single checkout lane had a bottle of sanitizer under the counter from then on.

I do wonder what happened to him after these past couple of years.

I...think he moved to AZ and was in my store. Dude had a fanny pack, wad of bills, and that all smelled too. It was like he was fermenting his stench to the bills cause not only was it in a fanny pack but it was in a zip lock bag.

Oh dear. Did he wear a speedo though or did he upgrade?
