Right now at least. There needs to be infrastructure, no danger of wifi or internet falling, and high speed (meaning fiber optic level) available to all for such a thing to work. But due to how companies are in their eternal search for infinite profit, none of that will come to pass for quite a long time.Google kills Stadia:

Stadia didn't have much of a future to begin with, there were already other players on the board and i feel like it may have just been bad timing when i look back on it now.
We did get a free copy of Assassin's Creed:Odyssey out of it though; those of us who beta tested the tech back before Stadia's release- it's the game that was used to stress-test it for a numbers of months.
I feel like if Stadia was a thing back in the early 2010's- it would have had a much bigger impact; because the OnLive service was basically like Stadia; but the games were free as long as you had a paid subscription.
Game streaming does have a future, as others have pointed out, it just needs more infrastructure, and to be fair the whole stadia thing is part of something bigger that's going on between Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. There is a kind of tech-power struggle going on currently, and google just happens to be the one being pushed around right now.Google kills Stadia:
