Yeah. I’m probably gonna retreat into FFXIV tomorrow once i get my new PC. This entire thing feels like a fever dream.
DS1 really didn't have much outside of armor apart from some of the witch/princess sets some of the npcs had. DS2 had the Smelter armor and the desert sorceress stuff. 3 also had the sorceress stuff and witch stuff. Bloodborne was pretty much all unisex long coats. Demons' actually had genderlocked gear. You have to give it credit, it's a series that sticks very hard to its aesthetics.

Built the Baund Doc. Pictures cannot properly convey just how eye-gougingly 80s these colors are.

The conversation a little above about female armour, I think Monster Hunter got it right in some cases. There's probably sets I'm missing that hit the cliché skimpy points for the female version, but RN I can remember none. Perhaps the Kirin set? Wasn't it revealing for guys too? The Nargacuga armour was sexy for females, but honestly that looked too cool so I excuse it.![]()
Mortal Fist
That Baund Doc is fabulous!
In related news just found out that SRW W got a full English fan translation. With the (hopefully not) Final Original Generations SRW on the horizon its cool that this one got translated since it should be included.
Lol, that Kirin set showing a little skin on males was just the exception that proves the rule. I'd rather give the females some pants instead anyway. The conversation a little above about female armour, I think Monster Hunter got it right in some cases. Alas, selling waifu ASSets is easy money.

Re: male/female armor design - gotta say, I'm glad there are some franchises (such as Soulsborne) which stick heavily to a chosen aesthetic that works for all genders, rather than divides masc-options into pure, functional armor and femme-options into "skimpy battle bikini with frills".
As a girl wanting to (usually) play female characters, it's incredibly tiring when my only options are various levels of skimpy or otherwise lovely armor sets ruined by not even tastefully-designed skin showing. Look, I'm a heavily femme-leaning bisexual - I appreciate T&A as much as anyone, and sometimes I don't mind the armor sets if I'm making a character I want to look at and ogle a bit while I play! But T&A out-skin everywhere-body suit type 'armors' aren't the only thing ladies can look good in.
Dunno about most of you, but to me there is nothing hotter than a woman in full plate mail. I will die on this hill.
Femroe starting racial gear.
MEDIC, WE NEED A MEDIC FOR KAORU!!!
:P
Being serious for a minute, I've grown quite fond of seeing my Femroe in the traditional chainmail outfit 99% of Ishgardian soldiers wear. She's got a generic "light armor because boats" outfit that I appreciate, but it's hard not to like a Goddess in full chain mail; particularly in the frozen wastes of Coerthas.

Femroes certainly have some of the best starter gear imo, but they also become 100x hotter to me when they're in a full set of heavy tank armor. xD Armor just does wonders for people's silhouette - and the more grungy and battle-worn it is, the better tbh.Femroe starting racial gear.

Which is part of why I super appreciate the aesthetics of Soulsborne armor sets (and man, some of what I've seen from Elden Ring so far is already blowing a lot of the old stuff out of the water). That said, Dragon's Dogma also had some really nice armor sets!... you just had to find them, and layer well.

I'll die with you for this.
Can we talk about the possibility of making muscular chicks too? I know it's perfectly stupid, but this cosmetic option is what made me choose one race over another.
