So I wanted to give Elden Ring a try, downloaded it installed it and tryed to start it, it goes to a white screen then black then pops right back to the steam page. I asked for a refund and they did so no questions asked. I have a good pc icore7 Alienware with a great Nvidia card. I read that it won't run on many PCs it's a shame because I really wanted to try it out. It looks amazing visual wise. Maybe when they fix whatever is stopping the game from loading in the future I can give it a try.

I decided to give it a go since the code was just lying around.
Luck was on my side. Max settings. Gameplay was smooth in all environments, no hitches and admittedly 60 fps felt incredibly smooth.
G/FreeSync may be a factor here.
I've a 3060 FTW3 with an 11600K and an nvme SSDs, perhaps these factor into it.

Some folks with good cpus are having issues with Elden Ring. I am hovering mostly at 60 on high with my aging R5 2600 and 2070, but get massive drops when the game tries to load anything.

3900x +2080S, no drops or any problems (except damn keyboard bindings). Really who's decided to make jump on F by defaults xd

The stuttering did come back for me and I've had it even in some of the '' instanced '' parts ( altho VERY rarely ).
It seems to mainly be the open world having to do with a lot of trees or water, the area I was in when I thought the stuttering was gone was very different and it was running smooth.
It's a very consistent problem people are having tho and it definitely has nothing to do with my specs...

It's not horrible and unplayable but it is annoying, especially if you're fighting an open world boss.

I will say Elden Ring was cooking my laptop. Spiked cpu temps to 90c at times.
