Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I'll be interested to see what the fix looks like. From how the current system appears to work, it seems like they'd have to either sacrifice something (like fur patterns being independent of hairstyle) or create a whole new category in the character template, which could mean improvements for other races as well – say, body tattoos as a new category with Hrothgar fur patterns using that system instead of currently using the hairstyle slot. But that seems less likely and I wouldn't get my hopes up on it.

If they're wedging it into the current template, the least-sacrificial approach might be that the hairstyle menu is a weird thing with five copies of each hairstyle, each with a different fur pattern tied to it.

Considering they added derplander's stubble as a whole "new" face, it'd be safe to assume they might be getting 24 "new faces", but somehow locate them in the hairstyle tab instead - hopefully that'd also mean they won't need a Fantasia to change hair, but that'd just be being optimistic.

I’m very grateful that they are doing this. The having to Fantasia to swap my hair on Hrothgar is why I’ve swapped away from it. With male Viera being a thing now that is going to be my new race. Either way it’s a very good thing they’re taking the steps.

This makes me extremely happy! I've been waiting on this for so long! I'll change to viera in 6.0, but when they add more hairstyles for hrothgar I'll be really tempted to change back!

I finally did the benchmark (15,000+ yay) and created a bunny boy I really liked. However, I'll probably stick with midlander (or go back to highlander) for the MSQ because I have trouble picturing my pretty boy bunny looking badass in cutscenes. Like, the part in ShB after Amarout just wouldn't have been the same if I wasn't my big, bad looking highlander.

Will the extra hairstyles be only for female Viera or all Viera?

Happy to see they're adding hairstyles, very disappointed to see that still helmets are not being included in any sort of discussion. This game, to me, has been 99.9% on point with the quality it has provided. However, having been waiting on Viera since Yoshi took the poll back in 1.x, I've been so saddened by how much of the game's aesthetics have been shut out to me when I play on viera. It's extremely upsetting to see all the beautiful comments that have been made, yet still, no red mage hats, no dragoon helmets, and etc. After playing final fantasy since I was a kid, these hats are so iconic.

Yoshi says they're not sparing any expense, then please don't spare expense in adding helmets (not just hairstyles) to viera. PLEASE let their ears clip though, from some pictures I've seen posted online, they look great and that's the ENTIRE point I play viera is for the ears / etc.

Very excited for endwalker, very happy with the game, just this one issue - please fix this

The hill I die on is that AF hats should be the exception. I'm glad to see Reaper hats will work on Viera, but AF sets are unique and special. They should all work.
