Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

oh look what I found on twitter for "viera hats"... I wonder how it was done, must have been magic since Yoshi-P told us it's not possible...

Apparently, according to the modders that did this, it didn't even take long for them to do it, a couple of hours. And as someone who has checked it out, it actually looks completely fine ingame. Sure, some hats look really bad, but alot of them look absolutely ok for playthrough. I think they don´t want to release it because of quality (since the earhairs clip through since there are no natural holes in the hats for the ears).

I compared male Viera Face 1/Face 4 to Disney princes with their smooth skin, large eyes, big noses, and strong jaws. Then got told that Disney princes were feminine, which was the point that I really just gave up. I don't know how anyone can look at Beast, Naveen, Flynn, or Eric and think... yes... looks like a woman.

Is it really just the eyelashes throwing people through a loop or what?


But yeah the facial hair sucks and looks like Jafar. SE isn't really known for good facial hair.

disney princes are clearly not feminine. all disney princes have more masculine feautures, like stronger jaws/noses. disney princes are designed with western beauty standards in mind - they don’t look androgynous like male viera do. i agree face 1 especially might count as a disney prince (because of the stronger feautures - and that‘s the face i‘m personally going for)

male viera draw much more from asian features (beauty standards), softer features/jaws, no beard (good full beards would be hard to pull off on male viera) - a more androgyous look in general
they remind me more of:

i love how the males turned out and it‘s different from what we‘ve seen so far. let‘s hope for a improved cc in the futures, for people that wanted something different \o/
especially something along the lines of this would be nice, the artwork is amazing!

they are still more andro and delicate looking. (softer features - following asian beauty standards) compared to the pictures of the princes i‘ve posted before.
this is my rava face 4 i created some days ago, i even used the stronger jaw.


don‘t get me wrong - i absolutely love them! (future viera main here) but comparing them to disney princes, who were created with western beauty standards in mind doesn‘t add up (at least in my opinion - such things are often subjectiv as we know! )

Yeah, I don't think male viera look like disney princes, nor do I think they qualify as "pretty". Face 4 in particular has these bulging eyes, and the face looks off in general to me. Face 1 is permanently mad, and needs bangs to soften it's features, face 2 is too boyish, too round, and looks too small in comparison to body size, and face 3 is just ripped out of an anime. They need stronger jaws, more face definition, and less (none at all) permanent mascara to look more masculine. I get some people really like them, but the entire gender is effectively just different brands of the same flavor. It pains me to say it, but male miqo'te actually look better to me, and have a wider variety of face options, in my opinion. It's too bad SE didn't make them closer to miqo'te, in face range.

So my hubby had a go at the character creator. I was really impressed with the character he came up with. In general, I like the male vieras but still feel with female vieras they look more like an angsty teenage son than they do as a counterpart to the amazonian warrior princess. However, his character totally read to me as mature. I think it's because he looks tired like we do lol.

I don't know, guys. They look pretty Disney Prince to me. Not any in particular but if you slapped a male Viera in front of me and said this was from Frozen 6 I'd believe you.

Your post really got me thinking. I drew this for better lack of words of what I wanted, facial hair wise and masculinity wise.
No matter how I drew it, it's too true that a slightly more masculine face of face 4 is needed. I like male viera. But we all have the perfect scenario of our character.



Mind you, this isn't a complaint, perhaps a mixture of a request and a wish lol. The state of the faces now make it near impossible for facial hair to be believable.
