Most of those are mog station items which usually are gender locked since they sell the other version separately (I despise that business strategy but it is what it is) or fanfest items who all have their female counterpart.

I feel like they get too much of a say, or rather are catered to too much. It's how we get things like G'raha Tia.

Yeah sure, let's have SE listen to the person who keeps labeling G'raha as a "thing". And what's so bad about pandering? We should be pandered too. This game is diverse enough that there is something for everyone, any other mmo pales in comparison, where every dude looks like a middle aged man on steroids and women all have the same hourglass figure with copy paste faces (admittedly we have the same in ffxiv but you can at least choose to still have variety). Male Viera take nothing away from existing players, yet some people feel threatened, it's bizarre.

I never intended to play male viera in the first place, though I did support their inclusion in the male viera thread. I think male viera look bad, and don't look like how I imagined them in the lore. They are supposed to be wild protectors of the forest, trained killers, feared by those who enter the forest, etc.. yet they DEFINITELY look nothing like that, in my opinion. I don't know what I or other people would supposedly feel "threatened" about either, frankly.

Just because something doesn't have a fierce look or look like a total badass doesn't mean they're any less dangerous.
But yes, I understand and I do agree to some degree that the visual aspect is important.
The appearance is the first thing people will notice and from that get an impression of what that character is capable of.
But just like how one shouldn't judge a book by its cover one shouldn't disregard the possibilities that even if it doesn't look so it can just as well be so.

This supposed "world's deadliest cat" is an animal that hunts small prey:

With context taken into account, male viera would be up against a much different kind of enemy (prey) than this cat example. We are talking Garlean invasion forces, large monsters, etc. etc. Plus up against the environment itself.

They went with, what they felt, was the most popular interpretation of male Viera and it worked. They got their inspiration from fanworks, mostly JP artworks I might add. And thank everything for that, because we don't need another case of Aura.

They just simply aren't how I imagined them. I hoped they would get options that I'd personally like more, but that wasn't the case.

Don’t forget, this is in a game with child-like potato people, who can take down huge monsters and primals.

So what if male Viera are slender (good for not being too heavy in trees!) and androgynous looking. They can still kick butt the same as a Roe or a Lalafell.

Not gonna lie, I would have liked to see Matsuno's take on male Viera being more boxer-like.

If it helps, male Viera look a lot like Featherweight/Super Featherweight Boxers, in terms of build that is.

No one said they couldn't ... No one said that appearance is everything...
Some ppl just wanted a more warrior like look or at least something more manly. Aymeric for example is androgynous but still manly. 1 face with weaker feminine traits wouldn't have killed the race.

G'raha the character in the story is not a 3D model, he's a flesh-and-blood person. He does things and makes plans and is generally what anyone means when they talk about him.

G'raha the image displayed on our screen as the story is told to us is a 3D model, as is everything else in the game, but talking about it in those terms would be horribly confusing all the time. It's just a puppet with no identity except the character it represents.

Yes but calling the character a thing isn't shoking for me because it's not real and seriously it's wasn't the message.

Uhuh, let's not pretend that certain people on this forum make it a hobby to demean specific characters in every way possible even tho they have no relation to the topic at hand. You and I both know that G'raha wasn't labeled a "thing" to explain that he is a 3d character.

It wasn't for that. Seriously can't you guys see how one sided the male viera are? Most male races have at least 1 androgynous face among the more manly ones. Yet here it's all androgynous. That's what she tried to point out.
Edit : correction, male viera is mostly VERY feminine. Not just androgynous, 1 face more on the manly side wouldn't have bothered ppl tbh.

Maybe in another universe, SE managed to implement alternate body types and managed to please both crowds that wanted big buff bunny men, and svelte bunny boys.
