Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I would be very surprised if they add anything but more racespecific hairstyles to viera (and hrothgar). They obviously could, but they have already backtracked that they would so....

But did they really say ALL hairstyles? I understood it as they were talking about the racespecific hairstyles, because that would actually make sense in the meaning of:

"Do we just add them all at every expansion in character creation?"
or
"Do we implement that vieras/hrothgar will get a specific racehairstyle instead of the regular hairstyle as a reward for a certain quest/challenge?"
or
"Do we let them buy the hairstyles through mogstation?"
or
"Do we add one every patch?"

and so on and so forth.

However, we are of course aware of the requests from the players and we are not the type of team that gives its players the cold shoulder and ignores their wishes. There have been points in the past that we thought impossible at first, but which we were then able to make possible. In this case in particular, over the past six months we have repeatedly thought about how we can reduce development costs or what options we have to implement all hairstyles.

Doesn't mean we'll actually get any or all hairstyles of course until we actually see something, but the race specific thing seems to be absent this time around.

I don't know that it makes a ton of sense to debate if they should sell us hairstyles through the Mogstation, definitely not what we've been asking for, but then he also says things like this:

Which has very big "Wow, thanks I'm cured"-energy.

It's open to interpretation if he's talking about modern aesthetics or something else, but that's what he said and what players have been requesting every time a new hairstyles comes out so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If I am not mistaken, bozja/gangos has some hrothgar npcs that uses a combination of face/hair that are not present in the character creator (although it isn't much since plenty of npcs of all races tend to wear/use stuff that players can't do)
Still, wonder how much more time it'll take

I'd honestly rather Viera have their own unique hairstyles- not the currently existing ones because they're freaking terrible in my opinion.
I get having the hairstyles that can be bought being added; I hope though it stops there & SE gives Viera unique hairs. I want to be a Viera but if the designers are just going to Au Ra them by having a few unique hairstyles, then throwing all of the old terrible vanilla hairstyles at them, it would be a massive disappointment.

It just feels like SE shot themselves in the foot because they gave Viera adjustable ears, when they should have just given them the exact same ears as Fran & the Viera from ff12- then it feels like they expected noone to want hats or hairstyles on those races, when in contrary their hair isn't extravagant enough & doesn't justify not wearing hats. If they had the giant ponytail just like Fran, & all of their hairstyles had the head/ ear diadem seen on many Viera in ff12, then yeah I would even say no need for hats, but their hairs are pretty flat & their ears look like they'd be able to fit out of a hat or safely under.

I'm all for the bought hairs being added to Viera- it's something that should have happened before their release, but I really hope that SE will still give them a few unique hairstyles.
I still want Frans giant ponytail & Mjrn's cute bob & the long, split hairstyle showcased on several ff viera art with optional Viera diadem to set them apart

Tbh I'd be more than happy to have every hairstyle the other races have rather than exclusive ones.
We've been 2 years with no additions while they added tons of stuff on Mogstation and game content,so I think that would be better going into EW than getting 4 new hairstyles (being optimistic) and nothing else for 2 more years. I'll probably get 12 new hairstyles by the end of the exp. if I am able to get the same as the other races.

I agree, race specific hair sounds great on paper but we're never gonna get hair down to our ankles or anything like that so I'd much rather be included in the regular hairstyle cycle even if I don't like some of them.

The frequency of regular hairstyle releases is just much higher than what they'll be able to pull off with styles ONLY for Viera or Hrothgar.

Thing is, even the headpieces that do appear for vieras, still clip with their poofy hairstyles. So we are in dire need of more sleek hairstyles, which the other races have been given. I understand raceidentity and so on would require viera to have more fluffy hairs but I just want another great lengths for instance, or some nice sleek ponytails.....
