Anyone has experience to play this on new Macbook Air/Pro M1?

    Hello

I've been thinking of getting a macbook air or pro with the new sillicon m1 cpu.
I seen some result people managed to play this on it but was curious if we have any members here who can share their experiences.

And wherever it worth ponny up €200 upgrade for 16gb vs 8gb ram.

Not sure about Apples ecosystem but 16GB is starting or soon to be standard in games (keeping browser tabs open etc...). 8GB would be outdated. Atleast on Windows side

I use a Pro as a backup/travel machine, not as my prime computer.

It works fairly well for a laptop with graphics set to about medium. But it might cause thermal throttling on the Air, I certainly have the fans come on quite heavily when using FFXIV on my Pro, with the CPU becoming quite hot.

8GB of RAM is what I have, and that seems fine. Apple are far better at swapping unused programs to the SSD than Windows.

Our country's Apple Store has a 14 day no-questions return period. If your country has the same, get one and try it, return if you don't like it.

Memory is being used more effectively on Mac than windows but yeah that's why i'm hesitant cause on new macs they are soldered to the SoC so gotta pick your specs at order and is £200 to upgrade.

Thank you for the feedback. I would only play this on the go for crafting and the like, not do actual endgame content.
I will look if Swedish shop offer same return policy.

I myself was also debating on getting the new Pro with the M1 chip and use it for work since I am directly working on COVID Crisis right now and wanted something to work and play since Government computers suck.

I decided to go with the Razor Blade. No bloatware and I do not have to worry about most of my games on steam not working with a Mac.

Believe me I wanted the MacBook Pro as I get Zero interest on it with my Apple card
