Wrath and Abandon resources, The Beast Gauge - the union, how to coexist? the idea concerning how the resources and gauge could work/interact with and around each other.
To begin, I will first just jump straight into the deep end of those big-and-in-bold words above.
The Deliverance stance returns, but in a good and different way, not the automatic assumption that you probably just made, and of course.. comes with the return of Abandon and Uncontrollable, as well.. while the Defiance Tank stance will not change and Wrath and Infuriated both return; but the deliverance stance, and Wrath and Abandon resources, will be a little different from the past, as this is a remaster.
Wrath resource will also be independent of Defiance, but Deliverance and abandon resource will still be connected.
Wrath and Abandon, both made a permanent resource that waits to be spent, same as the Beast Gauge.
Wrath will, for the most part, remain a solid resource.
think of Wrath as similar to a Monk's "chakra", but it builds up through generating Wrath points, which will convert into Wrath resource on their own.
But.. Wrath will be more of ease to use, and more abundant, than a lousy 5-for-1 exchange, like back in ARR/HW.
Beast Gauge, for the most part.. will remain how it is, still the gauge that we all know it as and have come to be used to.
While Abandon will be both unique and a hybrid, a “negative” gauge with “negative” Abandon points that build up on their own, while enough Abandon points will convert into a “negative” solid Abandon resource. Instead of this “negative” resource being one that is spent, it is instead “converted into positive resource”; in other words, Abandon resource is converted into Wrath resource and Beast Gauge units.
And what is the theme that is the BackBone of this concept? Warrior’s “identity”, as it is portrayed in Warrior class quests and the Warrior story.
Take a seat and get comfy.. humor me, hear me out.
I first began to play FFXIV only a few months before the release of ShadowBringers, so I knew naught at all about the history and the past of this game, and of its Subclasses. but... I did research on some of this history and past, and when that research came to old Warrior, I did then learn about old Warrior’s old resources...
Defiance and Deliverance, Wrath and Abandon... to me, and to be honest, although beast gauge does feel like a part of Warrior’s identity, as it is what I am used to and all that I have known, I truly feel like old Warrior.. old Warrior’s old set-up and old resources, just.. well, fits.. the "identity" of Warrior, that is defined in its quests and story, quite a lot... and a little more than Beast gauge does.
