Incomplete crafting recipe list

My friend's crafting list has fewer recipes on it than mine. I'm not talking master books, I'm talking the normal recipes everyone gets as you level from 1 to 80. We're both level 80, but she has gaps on her list, e.g. smilodon leather doesn't appear for her. If she types the item in it's fine, but it's not appearing in her list.

I'm sure there's an obvious explanation I haven't thought of and I'll feel stupid when I find out what it is....but what is it?

Likely a filter is set on their Crafting Log.
Click the cog in the Crafting Log window, and turn off (uncheck) the filters to see everything.
