If you have ps+ you'll probably find all your stuff is already backed up in the cloud. So on the ps5 all ypu have to do is download the ffxiv save data.

However I never actually knew they added an in game backup facility. Is it platform specific? It'd be cool if not. Save my settings on ps and pull them straight up on my pc or vv.

I think thats pretty much exactly what its for. At least one of my friends has the PC license too and using this setting helps the transition from one to the other.

Cross-platform. I just switched to pc thus week. I saved my info with on ps4 and then used it once I was on pc and downloaded my info. Everything was the way it should be. My ui, my crossbar, my inventory etc all was saved.
