HUD layout

A quick question with a simple answer I hope. With the upcoming PS5 open beta on the 13th, they suggested saving your HUD layout to bring over from the ps4 version to the ps5 one. How does one exactly save their HUD layout so it will seamlessly transfer over?

The option is at the character select screen:


The other gear button next to (New Character) will let you back up your client settings, such as shared macros and display preferences.

Load settings on another platform using these same buttons.

Client character settings include the HUD layout, so you are safe.

If you have ps+ you'll probably find all your stuff is already backed up in the cloud. So on the ps5 all ypu have to do is download the ffxiv save data.

However I never actually knew they added an in game backup facility. Is it platform specific? It'd be cool if not. Save my settings on ps and pull them straight up on my pc or vv.

I think thats pretty much exactly what its for. At least one of my friends has the PC license too and using this setting helps the transition from one to the other.

Cross-platform. I just switched to pc thus week. I saved my info with on ps4 and then used it once I was on pc and downloaded my info. Everything was the way it should be. My ui, my crossbar, my inventory etc all was saved.

Nice. I dont use my ps much these days but nice to know if I go anywhere thebps is easier to take with me

I just switched yesterday (I still use PS4 but got new laptop recently) and I didn't realize this feature until this morning lol. Very glad everything came over though and all I had to fix was the chat log and some text.
