    1. Try defragging your hard drive.
    2. Ensure you're running FFXIV on the hard drive and not on a slower external drive (like a flashdrive or SD card)
    3. What's your ping like? This isn't your upload and download speeds. Ping essentially means how fast your device transmits information to a server and back again. If your ping is generally bad, it's gonna be worse in FF.
    4. What are your laptop specs?
    5. Try running the Shadowbringers benchmark. What does that give you?
    6. Make sure you don't have files clogging up your downloads folder or Temp folder.

Thanks, Milkie. 1 & 2 can be ruled out. I'd love to find an address for Leviathan so I could run tracert. My tracert to cnn, etc is fine. My laptop is an ASUS ROG, 2.8ghz i7, 16 gigs ram, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. I'm downloading the shadowbringers benchmark now - thanks for that tip!

I thought it was my wifi, but I was running wired this am and had the same issue. My download speeds in the Crystarium were in the 300s - basically a slide show.

Is there a server or data center that is preferred for West Coast US people? I've found conflicting information online and most of it is pretty old.

If it helps, my connection speed according to speedtest.net is 174 down and 11 up.

    Thanks in advanc
You might be having the same problem as me and other people, which started happening like 4-5 days ago ( for me at least )

I was just about to say, it sounds like that. There may or may not be a hotfix for it before patch day, or they may just leave the fix for it until patchday.

Given what we've found out about the issue, it doesnt look like we will have a fix for this by patch day (which is awful timing considering this is the final patch of the expansion).

It looks to me like this is going to be another Raubahn EX, where the content comes out, but isnt playable until it's patched in another week or so.

Mine has been going on for a while. I didn't think too much about it just crafting - I assumed it was my wireless. I can't tell you the disappointment when I plugged it in and saw the same results.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
