Tales of Adventure - when will these get updated for Endwalker?

Just curious if there is any information out there about level and quest/story jumps to catch up to Endwalker? I have someone that wants to start playing but I don't see any point of them doing a level and story quest grind if there is going to be new potions in the near future

    thanks

Most likely when Endwalker releases in 4-5 months, but that's just a guess.

You say what's the point in doing the level/story grind, I say what's the point in jumping in on the last chapter of the story?

(at least, I think I've heard that 6.0 is meant to wrap up many major plot points...)

I would actually advise you to tell your friend to play through the story and level naturally.

They'll be lost when they get to the story in Endwalker. They won't know who is who and what's so bad about the villains we're up against.

Also they'll be at a higher risk of information overload from the skips and their skill at the game will be affected as they've not been introduced to systems and skills systematically as they leveled.

FFXIV to me is more about the journey than it is about what you do at end game.

If your friend is wanting to play with you, I'd suggest making an alt to level alongside them. Choose a class that starts in the same city if not the same class.

If they follow history, the skips will show up at the same time as the expansion. Considering that is 6ish months away, if your friend is interested then just starting normally would be my recommendation as well. You can reach end game in a month or two(less if you grind, longer if you take your time), so theres more then enough time to get there and be experienced and ready to jump into the new content on day one.

They make a lot of money with potions so you can be sure they'll be level 80 skips for jobs/story when the xpac releases.

If they care about the story, their first job should be to play through the story because spoilers and less of the story will make sense if you come part way through.

If they don't care about the story, then at least ensure they learn to play their chosen job before they jump into anything high-end. There is a trend of jump potion users who also skip out on learning mechanics and learning how their job plays. Levelling up the normal way offers this benefit because it's gradual and Hall of the Novice doesn't teach you enough, just the basics ready to kick-start you for dungeons at level 15.

Endgame? We don't have a endgame.

But yeah, a boost is a long therm money investment.
Because you buy the boost, play for 3 month and the realize that you don't play in the endcontent for 95% of the time and it gets boring because you don't know what's going on these 95% you always play.

    There's endgame in this game?

In all seriousness, though. FFXIV is heavily story-driven. I would recommend that your friend go through the story normally. It helps with the connection to the game, the characters, everything happening as a whole in FFXIV. For the raid, we're expecting Lahabrea to play a big part in the endgame raid. His part and how it plays into the raid won't matter without doing the story. Other than 4 raid bosses that will get you maybe few weeks of good endgame progression, there won't be much care to the main raid of the xpac. Everything is deeply tied to story in this game, so it's probably best to have them do the story.
