I would not care about all the deck restrictions the players have to build around if it wasn't for the fact that the NPCs completely ignore them.
Isobe has three 5star cards, four 4star cards, and a 2star card. What kind of game has RULES that other players can arbitrarily ignore?
As developers you keep trying to fix a problem while basically ignoring the rules of your own game in the world.
First it was a problem with how the original "tournaments" worked, people were cheating the system. Then you add the Battle Hall which tried to solve that problem, but your deck still mattered against people or the obvious NPCs still breaking the rules. People could probably still cheat the system with friends/alt accounts+2 service accounts if they really wanted to. Finally you add the new tournament system with Draft, basically invalidating all the cards players have collected.
So who is being protected by these deck restrictions against the players? The NPCs? If a new player is going against the broken NPC decks that doesn't seem fair right? So they need other cards to make a better deck which is fine. But why would the NPC need a deck to break the rules to make that point? Or why not just let them have better AI, which I'm sure some of them already do based on my experience.
If the excuse is that the NPCs have broken decks so it provides a challenge, you're basically saying they can't play smart if they can't beat a player who has a strictly worse deck. This challenge would make some sense if the drop rate for a lot of the cards weren't awful. So because the NPCs need broken decks the players now have to play upwards of a 100+ matches against those decks to even get the cards, and this is in WINS so it can be even more matches played.
At the very least there should be some behind the scenes safety net of wins to guarantee the card drop. Like getting 99 tokens for the Extreme mounts is excessive in my opinion but it's at least there. So maybe something like after 50 wins at least one of the card drops becomes guaranteed, and hopefully you got the others along the way, if not you at least know you can get the next one after an exact amount.
You have talked about adding a reward for people who have collected every Triple Triad card but the gameplay mechanics up until now basically went completely against that idea. There was little to no reason to ever get more cards, and in fact some of the rules would even hurt you if you had a more complete collection.
The comparison I would make is having people play a game of Chess. Except one player is allowed to change out their Pawns for more Rooks, Knights, Bishops or have multiple Queens just because they feel like it.
If you would at least fix the NPC decks I would not care about the deck restrictions. Letting us use one more 4star card in the deck is not some amazing answer to the problem people keep complaining about in regards to the deck restrictions. So if you can't make it a free for all cause of balance, at least don't let the NPCs cheat your own system.
