I believe you mean the "factory setting purple" for purple gear sets. I argue that the purple dyes in this game are fantastic. They don't look too flashy like in Monster Hunter World/Rise (even with tweaking the brightness setting).

I feel like we could run into the Warcraft effect if we do. Once people are decked out in purples all the time, it suddenly becomes meaningless. Because of that oversaturation, purple gear in wow is a joke.

I only want purple gear if it's gained through a relic grind on AF gearsets that will be enhanced with special glow effects that accurately fit the theme of each job.

And here I'm running in raid Blue items all the time. What's the difference?
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

{Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.}
We've got enough colors, no point in adding more, and I would hate if the yellow showed up on stuff.
On a lore note, if you do the Alchemist quests, you come to find out that the WoL's personal aetherial signature is blue when made to appear to the naked eye using alchemy. So it's lore driven that most high end raid gear is blue aura in the gear slots anyway. Synchronizes better with our natural aether etc.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
