Wishing for full Purple Gear sets

Something small I really hope SE will expand in EndWalker would be the gear system. Having more Purps would be amazing. I only have a purple weapon and a ring...but I would love full purple sets!

What do you guys think? Would you want full purple gear sets? Also, how likely do you believe the chances of Square adding them would be?

I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic lol. But if you aren’t I’m talking about the gear slot color. Right now we normal gray, pink, green, and blue for the most part. Like I mentioned in my thread the only purple slot gear I have personally and have seen in game is my weapon and my ring.

Aesthetics aside, there’s fundamentally no difference between the different colored gear types. It more so denotes what type of gear it is.
Gray : Vendor or crafted
Pink : Aetherial
Green : dungeon set or crafted
Blue : Raid, Ex trial, tomestone, or artifact
Purple : Relic and the Eternal Bond ring

Stat wise, gear of equal item level will have equal stat budget, the exceptions being crafted and vendor gear that is not high quality. An ilvl 400 green piece of gear will have the same stat budget as an ilvl 400 blue piece. The only other exception in some cases are relic weapons that can have a higher substat budget but main stats are the same as equal ilvl.

Oh, you mean the color of the icon of the gear in the inventory? Why does that matter? Only relic weapons have a purple background as far as I can remember. It's most likely to imply you put a lot of work into this weapon and it's not something you just bought or looted.

And the wedding ring the Eternity Ring is also 'purple gear' - but yeah the whole point of the icon colour is like Eclipse above stated the icon colour determines the rarity and prestiege of the item in question. The Eternity Ring may be purely glamour gameplay wise (although it has a unique teleport-to-your-partner effect), but it naturally symbolizes the bond of love and affection your have with your partner, so thus it's purple gear.

One little bit of additional info that has just occurred to me - throughout history the colour purple has been long associated with royalty and privelage, due to the colour being extremely difficult to produce until fairly recent times, so it makes sense the icons for the 'ultimate' weapons and the Eternity Ring have this colour. I just thought it was a neat little detail.
