MilkieTea's suggestion on page 10 did work for me. It's a pretty big pain having to mess with a VPN just to play, but it did work.
Aye got a VPN as well and so far been smooth. We'll see tomorrow night if it still holds up.
I am seriously considering tethering off my phone's 5G connection and see how that turns out in the meantime.
Have the same problem for 4 days now. I live in Denmark and on PS4.
My connection is poor where it used to be excellent. Do not have any problem with other online games, just FFXIV.
Have tried to tinker with a vpn for my PS4 and so far, it has not done a lot of help.
For those of us on a PC, I think a better result would be to do an extended mtr instead of just a traceroute. WinMTR can be downloaded from SourceForge here:https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/
Mtr in Linux, both from an actual Linux install, or any Linux distro that can be installed in Windows through Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) will also work. Mtr can also be installed through Homebrew in macOS.
Here are my results from both WinMTR that I left running for quite a while, and mtr running for a few minutes, with the first few hops removed for privacy:
I'm getting 35% packet loss on the hop before Primal, with 10% and 11% on the two hops before. In this one, I see no noticeable lag on Comcast's side, but here's the mtr done just now, done a while after the previous:Code:|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | 162.151.95.117 - 1 | 21276 | 21275 | 10 | 19 | 71 | 25 | |be-33122-cs02.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net - 1 | 21268 | 21265 | 23 | 30 | 136 | 28 | |be-2211-pe11.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net - 1 | 20802 | 20675 | 23 | 30 | 125 | 29 | | ae-3.r08.chcgil09.us.bb.gin.ntt.net - 0 | 21279 | 21279 | 23 | 30 | 59 | 29 | | ae-4.r23.chcgil09.us.bb.gin.ntt.net - 1 | 21255 | 21249 | 23 | 31 | 3630 | 30 | | ae-1.r24.snjsca04.us.bb.gin.ntt.net - 4 | 18451 | 17714 | 71 | 79 | 140 | 80 | | ae-4.r00.scrmca02.us.bb.gin.ntt.net - 11 | 15206 | 13654 | 78 | 110 | 188 | 109 | |xe-0-1-0-1-1.r00.scrmca02.us.ce.gin.ntt.net - 10 | 15297 | 13768 | 78 | 110 | 159 | 110 | | 204.2.229.234 - 35 | 8936 | 5810 | 76 | 110 | 147 | 118 | | 204.2.229.10 - 11 | 15177 | 13618 | 78 | 109 | 171 | 109 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______|
Here, the packet loss from the last hub on Comcast's end is showing its ugly head. The issue seems to be both on NTT's side, intermittently made worse by the last hop on Comcast's side.Code:7. 162.151.95.117 0.0% 277 28.1 18.7 13.5 48.2 4.9 8. be-33122-cs02.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net 0.0% 277 40.6 29.6 23.5 45.0 2.5 9. be-2211-pe11.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net 7.9% 277 27.8 29.9 24.8 43.0 2.3 10. ae-3.r08.chcgil09.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 0.0% 277 31.1 30.0 23.5 44.6 3.2 11. ae-4.r23.chcgil09.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 2.2% 277 30.3 32.5 25.4 48.0 3.3 12. ae-1.r24.snjsca04.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 44.8% 277 76.9 78.2 74.9 90.8 2.7 13. ae-4.r00.scrmca02.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 3.2% 277 108.6 105.2 94.9 125.0 5.4 14. xe-0-1-0-1-1.r00.scrmca02.us.ce.gin.ntt.net 0.4% 277 107.4 105.2 92.5 129.6 5.7 15. 204.2.229.234 9.0% 277 98.4 105.6 94.5 130.8 6.1 16. 204.2.229.10 0.4% 277 98.2 105.2 92.6 127.0 6.2

What a ridiculous response.https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ng_south_east/
This is a known issue, take it to NTT and Comcast - there's nothing SE can do other than deal with NTT themselves - and that's not just something Dynratygus (who you passive-aggressively quoted in the other thread youre talking about) can say "hey we're doing this." Because that's not Dynratygus' job. That's an HR department thing.
Edit: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...-Center/page39
This is a WELL known issue, and their only recommendation is going to be to talk to your ISP if the linked solution doesn't work.
"There's nothing Square can do as a multinational corporation. So go, as an individual user with no influence or power, and take it to NTT yourself."
How about Square takes it to NTT? Or is it not Square's concern that a fairly major portion of their US playerbase and now EU playerbase are having a severely degraded experience? Because it seems like one suit could easily talk to another suit to get the ball rolling on a solution, rather than just "durr end-user call NTT out of the blue for a problem affecting multiple continents."
Not as ridiculous as one might think.... Given your join date I honestly think you'd know that about SE already. They have always put out minimal effort for countries outside JP. They didn't even upgrade the NA servers back in ARR till they were breaking and shutting down. Easy current example is server numbers vs population numbers on JP vs NA and EU. Any given time the amount of pop on a JP server is a fraction of what a typical NA server is; with the only exception being Tonberry for non-official SEA/English choice. Yet we have 2-3 less per DC on NA, even further on EU (which barely function as is too).
I'm from DK too and have the same problem (beginning three days ago)... What ISP are you using? (I'm with Fastspeed)
I'm wondering if it's a problem specific to Fastspeed or not.

I´m using yousee. I have tried to log in from a friends ps4 (they use stofa) same thing, poor connection. Even have gone so far as to internet share from a cell phone (oister) with the same results. :/
