So first off, I want to thank the devs for adding The Unending Journey. Between yesterday and today I went back and re-watched cutscenes from my nation's (Limsa Lominsa) story quests and the Path of the Twelve story line and read the quest summaries.

I'm not sure if I was just so displeased with the game as a whole while I was doing these quests, or if I just wasn't absorbing everything as it came in, but I'm glad I went back and checked these because a lot of things became much more clear. One thing was that the early quests gave you tasks that made it to where you visited each of the guilds local to that city and introduced you to some NPCs would be involved in subsequent class quests.

Now, from here on out will be my questions about the Nation and Path of the Twelve storylines that aren't clear to me, and I hope will be answered before the end of the current storyline arc ends, or at least will have an answer to if it will continue on after 2.0 at some point.
  1. Will the story involving Limsa Lominsa be continued at all, before or after 2.0? It seemed to be left on a big cliffhanger with that Elezen coming in and snatching that horn. What's with the horn anyway?
  2. Why was Sthalmann (Commodore for Knights of the Barracuda) captaining the ship bringing the adventurers into Limsa Lominsa in the opening cutscene?
  3. Will Leviathan be seen after 2.0? I'm guessing Garuda will be the last primal before 2.0 since the rest of the current storyline conflict will be with the Garleans I assume.
  4. Regarding the meteor showers seen on the boat and "Never Shall the Twain Meet", was this naturally occuring or conjured? In the last cutscene before you meet with Path of the Twelve, a swirling vortex appears in the sky like it was being controlled. Did the unknown Elezen that seems to be corroborating with the Sahagins do it? And what is the connection with the meteor showers to those with the power of the Echo?
  5. Speaking of the Sahagin, will there be any interaction with them before/after 2.0? We haven't so much as seen one let alone know much about them.
  6. Will Maelvaan's Gate (the Arcanist's guild) have a future significance? It was hinted at they may be a future class/job, but it's sounding like Red Mage might be the newest caster class/job to come.
  7. Who are the Ascians? The only one that's actually been seen is in one of the Path of the Twelve cutscenes. (it looked a bit like a Corse from FFXI) I was starting to wonder if that unknown Elezen that absorbed the horn into his chest in "Never Shall the Twain Meet" was one, but I'm not sure. Also regarding this unknown Elezen, Leviathan just happened to conveniently show up during the ship battle in the same quest. Wonder what's up with that...

Most of the above questions are regarding the Limsa Lominsa storyline. Here are some that got me thinking during the Path of the Twelve storyline.
  1. Probably most importantly, what is the mystery of the Echo, and who is the deity that gave us the power?
  2. Who are the Paragons that taught the beast tribes how to summon Primals?
  3. Who is the Sylph's Primal? It's mentioned that they don't want to rely on their Primal as they feel it is evil, and possibly due to the impact of the drain on the world's aether required in summoning it. (that's why the beast tribes are hoarding so many crystals)
  4. This one is more of an observation than anything, but the Primals seem to have no love for each other. Ifrit states as much in "Lord Errant" by saying something to the effect of "Forsake all other gods and bow before me if you wish to be saved."
  5. Unrelated to anything storywise, if you go back through the "Lord Errant" cutscenes, you'll hear that one of the songs on Soken's preview for 1.22 sounds like a remix of it.

So that's just some things I've noticed as I went back through these cutscenes. I haven't done Ul'dah or Gridania story missions so I can't really comment on those. If there's any questions you have regarding any of the nation, Path of the Twelve, or even Seventh Umbral Era quests, feel free to post them here! I'd be interested in seeing them.

My largest concern after all is said and done is how much of this will they be able to successfully wrap up before 2.0? I know they said most of the content currently in the game will be obsolete after 2.0, but I just hope they don't leave a lot of what's here unresolved, as I see some potential for the nation storylines at the very least. Somehow I think they'll do a good job of tying up loose ends with what was going on in Path of the Twelve together with the Seventh Umbral Era quests.
