Content does not require you to play 24/7 but gives you the option to. You have the option to collect all mounts, relic weapons, minions, TT cards and orchestrion rolls, or just do the new quests once and logout for a month. I think there is still plenty of 24/7 content if you try to collect everything.

If your goal is to 100% the game then sure. An MMO usually tries to appease a few different audiences, so not everyone is going to want to get literally everything there is to get in the game. Certain things don't appeal to me, or appeal to me enough to make me want to do them, so I don't do them.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

No, but I get what some are saying. I dabble in just about everything this game has to offer. Not all of it at the same time though. And I can no-life like anyone when a new expac drops and for about a year to year-and-a-half after. But then I get to where I've done just about everything I feel like doing and I'll take a bit of a break until the next expac. And while yes some people's definition of "not enough content" is really "not enough content I personally like" - that doesn't mean people are wrong for wanting more of what they personally like to do. It shouldn't come at the cost of other content other people like to do of course. It's a hard balancing act that I don't think any developer is going to be able to fully master.

While they will obviously want more content that they personally like, it's obviously not realistic to get too much of that because development takes a lot of work and time. Of course it's going to be even less content that they personally like in this MMO, because it tries to make a smaller amount of content but for all sorts of different interests be it RP, PvP, casual content and high-end content.

What I've personally done is tried to enjoy the content I wouldn't normally try and it's fun enough for me. To really be satisfied with the game I think you just have to try to enjoy everything the game has to offer even if you wouldn't normally do it. For me it's about the experience. I'll sail boats fishing things, play music to a retired bard, embark on a building career and then occasionally defeat giant beasts that threaten the world.

That's how I play as well. And many people I know do as well and we play together and all kinds of content. Heck, we even make our own FC contests and such. But there are others who don't and they want more of the content they enjoy. No game developer can ever make enough content for people who devour it. And while it sounds like you and I play the game in a similar way, not everyone does. And the last expac and this one, I'm finding myself not as engaged towards the end of the expac. TBF - I don't think it's all the game's fault. I've had a lot going on with work and family over the last couple of years (well before the pandemic even came along) and I'm just tired. And also as I said earlier in the thread, I have a backlog of games. So, while I'm not taking a break break, I am definitely not playing FFXIV as much as I normally do. I still love the game and I can't wait for the expac to come out.

There's a difference between "not enough content I personally like" and having content you personally like removed from the game or go completely unsupported.
