Eternal Bonding Ceremony, unable to complete quest, player vanished.

I paid for a bonding ceremony wrist let and went through the quest up until the part where you pick a date and time and complete the quest to get married. The other player I was to married, vanished from the game for two years. Showed up one day and moved to another server.

I figured as long as I had the band I could complete the quest with someone else, but I found out that this other person's name is still on my wedding band, that I paid for and didn't complete the quest with them because they vanished on me.

I am now trying to use this band that I paid for to finally complete the quest and there is no option for me to restart the quest. If I cancel it, it says it will take my band and I have to purchase a new one.

I never complete the quest and this is pretty much taking my money for goods not returned, can someone please help? Is there a way to fix this? I don't want a refund I just want to be able to use the item I paid for already without having to pay double as it wasn't my fault this other player vanished on me.

I would recommend starting by contacting the Square-Enix customer support. (You can access it through "support" on the Lodestone.). Beyond that no one here will really be able to help you.

Same thing happened to me. Twice. Both times I was out the $40 I paid for the ceremony. Support only responded with an automated message instructing me to make a suggestion in the forums, and only left me with the humiliation. I don't think I'll ever get my $80 back...
