Tales of Adventure: A Realm Reborn

There does seem to be a lot of gear that comes from walking one's way all the way through the MSQ. I'm looked through the details of the above MSQ skip and they mention a lot of stuff one will get... but I found it odd they do NOT mention gear at all. Does a person miss all that gear?

OR is there 50 gear that can be bought for 1 silver feather each that might be the equivalent to what may be earned along the way? AND what ilvl might that gear be?

The ten silver chocobo feathers can buy Augmented tomestone (max IL for a cap level) weapon, chest, and pants. Five for the weapon and five for the chest+pants combo. These are available for any of the three cap levels covered by Tales of Adventure. For the Lv70 gear, this is the same IL as the gear you would get from a Lv70 job boost.

Ah, that helps (did not know they did a chest+pants combo, assume you mean the 120/50 Ironworks gear), I'm going through all those quests now and there seems to be a lot of 90/50 gear being dropped, especially accessories.

The important thing to know about the MSQ skip is that it does not boost your personal level at all. There are separate skips that do that, and they include a set of level-appropriate gear, but you can only go straight to level 70 that way.

If you only skip the MSQ you'll have to level up by running dungeons until you reach level 50, at which point you can continue. Your level 45/50 job quests will give you i50/i90 gear and then the early Heavensward quests give you a set of i115 gear entirely before you have to do any battle content there.

I would suggest saving your silver feathers to purchase level 70 gear as this has the longest wait to be available through normal means. The level 50 Ironworks gear is available when you reach level 50 and can start running level 50 dungeons for the special currency used to buy them in Mor Dhona. Level 60 Shire gear is available towards the end of Heavensward before you reach any level 60 content, but the level 70 Scaevan gear can't be bought until you get past the final dungeon and trial of Stormblood. (You do get gear before that from your job quest, though.)

Small point of clarification: You can't actually get the 120 Ironworks anymore. Devs have streamlined the process and now you simply directly buy the 130 Augmented Ironworks.

But yeah. The quests give out i90, probably likely because the story-required content at level 50 maxes out at i90 required ilevel.
