    Not sure what to do now.

    Not sure how to word this. The long and the short is 5 years ago I added a PSN account to my SE account. I sold that ps4 to Gamestop because I never really played it.
    Cut to now and I have bought another ps4 because Spiderman, God of War etc. Anyway the other day I had the brilliant idea to buy ps4 complete edition so that I didn\\'t have to buy a laptop so that I could play with my FC when I\\'m not at home. The problem is I forgot all the information about that old ps4. I don\\'t remember what my old psn account was. Now I stupidly used the code on my new psn accout. Not a big deal. The issue I have now is that I cannot use my new account on my current SE account. It just doesn\\'t work. So I called customer service. They told me to call Sony. And Sony told me to call SE. I\\'ve spent 4 hours getting nowhere. When I Googled it I saw a reddit post about a guy who got his account unlinked. So here I am. With a ps4 copy paper weight and a headache. 4 hours of time I can never get back. SE your customer service is awful. I know it\\'s my fault for not remembering my information but it would\\'ve killed them to give me some bread crumbs. Rant over.

    1. Escalation: "I would like to speak to your supervisor". or "I would like you to escalate this to the next level".
    2. When two companies give you the "back and forth" you get them both on the line and tell them to work it out. This can be tough but it can be worth it.
    3. Demand your money back.

    Did you write this on your phone? My phone has this happen to it too, pretty annoying lol. Also some special characters will get changed to some good base code fun %26ue "You wot?".

    I tried to help with two google searches.. what I read didn't look great.. some people seem to found some solutions but it seemed a bit scary:

    It would be nice if SE could somehow better empower their team, from what I know a lot of it just has to do with the people handling the cases don't really have the options/power for what you want them to do.

    Also once you've tried again with whatever you can - perhaps try a different contact method than one you've already tried. Occasionally you get that overly confident new customer service person and you really needed the been there a while taking it casual person lol (talking in general, not specifically FF/SE).

    Wish you luck, hope you can get your progress back . Also it would be great if someone who uses a PS4 might be able to add more to this, unfortunately I'm PC only so I can't add more.

    I did do it on my phone.

    Honestly at this point I'm not sure what to do. I've called both multiple times. Both have failed me. Though the Sony support was like a million times better. I just feel defeated and lost. Part of me wants to quit this game out of principle, but I don't want to abandon my friends and the new people I like to help along the way. I'm just beyond frustrated. I'm not even mad anymore I'm just dissatisfied and disappointed. All I was gonna do was upgrade my ps4 account since I haven't used it in 5 years. It's not even the money at this point who cares.

    I wanted to but I didn't see anything pertaining to account issues. Only technical ones unless I missed something. But to be honest I don't think it's gonna be of much help. They already pretty much wrote me off.

    I'm part of a FFXIV community on PS4 and a few members have had this same issue with the only difference being they wanted a new square account linked to their current PSN. You seem to want to link an old square account to a new PSN. From what I remember of what those members said, when unlinking the accounts, Square Enix deletes the square account that is linked and attaches a new one to the psn account. So I don't think they can actually help you since you are using a new PSN. I could be remembering wrong, currently asking one of them for details. not sure if/when they'll respond though.

    So he says he doesn't remember too much but thinks they should still be able to help you. He said to contact square enix support. It only took him a few mins to have everything dealt with when he had the same issue. There's a phone number listed somewhere on their site. Perhaps you should mention unlinking the accounts to them yourself? Hope it works out for you.

    Do you have anything important tied to that SE account? There is a form you can fill out to get SE/PSN to unlink the accounts but it destroys that SE account in the process. IF you don't need that old SE account just create a new one. Did you have the full ARR game on the old account?
