Where is the new DNC throwing weapon?

I could of sworn there was an interview some time ago where Yoshi P said DNC was going to get another type of throwing weapon this expansion? Has that changed or will it be like every expansion after this one will be different type of throwing weapon? I want my dancing fans

Sadly no. I remember I was scrolling through Reddit when I read it. Someone had screenshot his response. He mentioned they we’re working on a new dancer throwing weapon. It was a long time go. Wish I would of screenshot it myself. Maybe we won’t see it until 6.0 though.

I remember this as well... but not as an actual second type (as in a different DNC's arms) but more like the silhouette itself looking like something other than a circular chakram.

So more like a glam specifically for dancer?

I do remember this, but maybe they changed their minds. The animations clearly are meant to be chakrams; knives or hatchets or whatever wouldn't really fit them unfortunately.

They’d definitely have to change the animations with every new weapon. I’m not really a fan of chakrams so I’m looking forward to fans maybe dance ribbons even. Maybe they change with each expansion because they have to change the animations. Guess we will see in 6.0.

well DNC has fans apart of its move set and fans are not really a throwing weapon

i remember Yoshi saying dancer had fans but as a skill probably what he meant or was a translation error

Everything is glamour. If they want to make a glamour specifically for dancer, they just make the dancer weapon for set X have whatever innovative design they want to give it.

But as has already been mentioned, I think they just got overenthusiastic early in the concept design, thinking they could have "all kinds" of throwing weapons like knives, but have since realised that the animations only really work with chakrams and circular weapons, though still drawing on a few different design concepts like shuriken and wind-fire wheels - not that the fighting style has much to do with how any of them work, as far as I can tell.

I think the animations limit it as well. Sometimes your character is wielding the physical chakrams, but they transition into glowing rings that are part of the battle animation and may not be showing the actual weapons at all.

Kinda like how there's a PLD weapon that looks like a pickaxe?
Or a WAR one that looks like a hammer?
