I wouldn't mind some variations in the weapons appearances, but we don't have a single pair of Normal looking decent weapons yet. Why do all the Powerful Pugilist Weapons have to look absurd? None of the powerful swords look absurd. The Ifrit Bow is a little big, but other than that none of the bows look absurd. I've personally never seen a four pronged trident before, but at least it looks feasible.

Can't we just get a pair of Shiny Black Cesti or something? Why do they all have to be outrageously over the top? Can someone please give me any reasonable explanation why I can't just have a Normal Level 50 weapon?

By all means SE, keep up the attempts at Variety, but do Something Normal first.

I beg to differ. The Garuda bow is so wide when drawn you can't see what you're shooting at. It looks more like a tactical shield than a bow. Also, every primal sword we have so far looks incredibly poor for actual combat situations. They're parade weapons at best.

Still, fist weapons are probably the worst off in FFXIV. Not only are the highest level drops ridiculously over the top, every single weapon in the PGL/MNK arsenal, other than the knuckles, actually don't work because they're not supported at the wrists/arms. Shields always have a strap or a similar feature to keep it supported against the arm for the same reason. The grip alone just can't keep the weapon steady and you'll only end up hurting yourself.
