Seriously, I'd like to see some examples of what people would prefer.

I don't want to design weapons for SE. I have no desire to be an artist. All I want is something reasonable and realistic. Every other class gets at least fairly realistic weapons with some cool features added. Why is it that only Pugilists have to suffer with this WoW level absurdity?

Garuda weapon is an example of awesome design... the crafted one is an example of... I don't honestly know if you can call it 'design'. I suppose the boxes do have a pattern on them.

Also it'd be nice to have some subtle weapons like knuckle dusters or something you grip in palm with blades between fingers like claws or something. Even current non-primal claws look a bit ridiculous. I might be the only one but I can kinda recognise that our fists are the weapon so we don't need giant extensions on our hands.

I actually like all the current primal designs for pgl though. I dunno, I'm willing to suspend disbelief a bit more for primal weapons. Moogle ones were obviously just meant to be fun looking. Ifrit's while some people call them ugly I kind of like the shape and how it looks like we made them from Ifrit's horns (though again, they look too big to be viable weapons but suspension of disbelief thing again). Garuda h2h is the best weapon I've seen yet.

Thinking about this I can sort of see where some difficulties might be coming from. We kinda have to have a weapon we can grip onto because weapons such as gloves/gauntlets etc would actually be 'hand eq' in this game.

I'd be perfectly happy for some pgl weapons to simply be gloves but due to previous-mentioned limitation that'd be kinda awkward unless we go for gameplay over realism (which I'm 100% fine with) and just wear 'glove style weapons' over our actual hand eq and it just replaces the dat or something? This already happens with certain body pieces hiding necklaces/belts iirc

Anyways wonder what people's thoughts are on this?

Agreed on the basis of aesthetics alone. Instead of bricks, why couldn't they have done something similar to Garuda's claws, but with a different model?
