1. Play RDM (this one especially affected), SMN probably too, BLM to lesser extent
2. Use Font of Magic lost action, even with pre-used Ether Kit. Watch as the drain is about 1100 mana per tick, for ten ticks, so this is about 11000 potential total mana drain.
3. The Ether Kit might trigger, which gives you back 5000 with smol chance of the Ether Kit remaining up (usually not). Font of Magic usually continues to drain for a few more ticks before it wears off.
4. You end up with like <4000 mana after everything, and you try in vain to Lucid Dreaming to recoup losses
5. RDM in particular is quite mana-negative, so as you do normal rotation, you continue slowly losing mana. This caster job is the most reliant on Lucid Dreamings naturally.
6. When the next 2-minute buff window arrives, you could have a chance to use another Ether Kit into another Font of Magic, but now your starting mana is significantly lower than fight start. This will cause Ether Kit to either instantly trigger, or trigger way too soon, when Font of Magic is still in its early stages.
7. The whole process is quite mana negative and I want to say unplayable on RDM, with high chance of zeroing out.

Look at Font of Power -- pure benefits for melee and phys ranged with 0 Negatives. Why do casters have such a big drain when they try to use similar one? Yes maybe BLM can cheese the process by switching to Ice state, but other casters don't have that luxury.

Due to zeroing out over many minutes of fight, even as early as 4minutes, this is a bug to me. Lucid Dreaming and caching Ether Kits in a ratio of 10 kits:1 Font of Magic is simply not enough from my tests. I really love RDM but can barely play it with such a mana restriction.

My suggestion is to not have any mana drain at all, following Font of Power example.
