Thread: Gender specific gear & 2.0

Come 2.0 when we are able to change character looks,name and gender what will happen to that gender specific gear when changing? For example, miqote to manqote will that summer event swimsuit or specific gender gear become useless? Not be able to change to male style gender gear etc?

On another note, ease add <call 1~10> to 2.0!

What would stop a manqote from wearing bra and panties?

The gender is coded into your character, not the item itself. When you trade an item it will scale to whoever you traded it too...

It's a non-issue, unless I misunderstood what you're asking.

He means that the swimsuits from the summer event are race/gender-specific. Will they change if you change the race/gender of your character when 2.0 hits, or will they essentially become useless?

They're u/u, so it's not like you can give them to someone else.

They'll switch to whatever race/gender you picked? Underwear and undershirts are all race/gender specific, I doubt they will leave those exactly the same.

Exactly. Will the race specific or gender specific items gear swimsuits etc become garbage or change accordingly to your new race/gender. What if I decide to change to make galka will I see a female swimsuit in my inventory? Or a female specific hat etc.

I'm sure specific items like swimsuits with clear gender parallels will be swapped accordingly.

Pretty sure they didn't forget there's gender specific gear when they decided race/gender change will be possible. If anything, they could have taken the FFXI route where the model is changed based on the race using it, i.e on those forsaken catgirls most pants become hotpants with knee warmers.

I think only a few gear types in this game actually change with gender.

To be clear, the meshes are unique per gender/race, barring the androgynous lalafell.

FFXI was actually pretty consistent about armor for the most part, aside from a few pants showing more skin on females. There's a few cases of that in XIV already though, pants become panties on White Mage for girls, Bard outfit shows off more skin as well.
