DPS who pull mobs

I will say, a healer not remembering to heal you is not the fault of them dpsing, that's the fault of them being stupid.

I've had healers too that have let me die, and were doing 0 dps. Quite literally afk, but "Oops I wasn't paying attention sorry".

This reminds me of an experiment I tried in Heavensward. If I didn't see Cleric Stance on within the first 20-25 seconds, I let you solo heal. My only exceptions were new healers or if it was clear said healer simply couldn't, I'd try to save the run.

The sheer amount of "I just wanna heal!" healers who had absolutely no idea how to do just that was both shocking and amusing. I even got yelled at by a WHM with accuracy melds who couldn't heal the beginning portion of A12N without completely running out of MP. They tried to give me a lecture about stance dancing... which they never did. What made it hilarious is the DRK called them out as a healer main asking how in the hell they ran out of MP before adds? They promptly left.

#1 If you're not dying then it's all good. Their job is to keep you alive through unavoidable damage, not to top you off 99% of time. Heck if they're doing this even in big/wall pulls, they definitely knew what they're doing. Relax, you're in good hands!

#2 I've answered this few pages earlier, but yes when they bring the mob to you there's definitely nothing to fuss about.

#3 Perhaps Vote Dismiss is a good opt to consider at that point. I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with these 'funny behavior'.

Haha yes I’m sorry about that I am reading your posts on my computer and responding via my iPhone. For some reason my original post did not show up and it was still in my mobile quick replies.

About your response to 1 yes as long I am not dying I have no problem but when I wiped a couple times it becomes a problem. Of course if this is a new player I try to work with them. When I go into a leveling section that is random I try to help as much as I can.

#3 This can be a problem if we had a member go offline and we voted to dismiss to get a toxic player. I was just in Prea last week when I defended our healer and second tank who commented out loud that we need to kick those doing nothing.

We had the entire DPS team literally waiting for us with no magitek armor and wanted the healers and tanks to do it all for them. This led to me sticking up for my healers complaining which led to the entire dps teaming harassing all of us which I then had to make a formal harassment compliant because the DPS decided to literally ‘hold our hands’ by standing right next to the tanks during the boss battles which led to them dying and even the healers just refused to use resurrection on them

Edit: Every bad healer I have ever had has been a healbot. Not a one of them has been a healer that dps's. If a healer is dpsing and somebody dies, that's fine. Mistakes happen, no reason to get mad about it. I think everyone that heals has been there. Nobody can be perfect all the time after all. But the clowns who only heal are already sandbagging the run to begin with and when they inevitably let someone die because all they know is how to spam cure 1 or jerk off to whatever's on their 2nd screen, well my willingness to let it slide is 0.

I mean, I still let it slide because it's just a dungeon, but I will complain about in ls/fc chat and the stereotype is reinforced.

Ironically I think this comes from the same tanks who get offended when the other tank wants to MT in raids/trials and begin fighting for aggro. Bring some of that energy to the dungeon.

Well OK to be fair on this point. If you want to MT and the other tank just comes up and steals it from you with a Provoke, that is kind of Lame.

I'm old school, like Everquest old school, where dying actually had painful consequences, like losing levels and all your gear. Where dps were expected to manage their aggro, and if they died. they would apologize, because it would take 10 minutes for my healer to regain mana (from empty to full). i.e., they recognized that their failure to perform slowed everybody down.

I recognize those days are gone, and I approve of that.

But I won't PUG a tank or healer in this game because of stupid dps.

I have joined them instead.

I main WHM and I assume if a tank is pulling smaller, they have a reason. I don't need to know what it is. I'm not the PuG police. If they pull small, I can dps more. It's seriously like 2 minutes longer. And I would rather a tank pull small and keep AoEs out of my face than have tanks pull everything and dance a circle around all the mobs because they somehow think they will take less damage this way, constantly pointing their AoEs right at me in what was formerly a safe spot. This especially cheeses me off with the flans that have donut AoEs mixed with mobs of other types of AoEs.

I stay with my tank and if impatient dps run off out of heal range and die, that's on them. They didn't bring things back. I'm not going to chase them to Narnia and abandon my tank. My tank is the person who keeps my squishy butt alive.

If they pull too much and the tank can't keep up and we wipe, that's on them. If they keep doing it, not paying a bit of attention to what we can handle as a group, then I will be the first person with the finger on the kick button. Everyone likes to say it's a team effort when talking about things like healer dps or tanks that should peel, but then give selfish dps a pass when *they* don't play with the team.
