Ah yes, ERP. Truly the worst of all evils that plagues FFXIV.I do think SE should do more in regards to ERP.
I remember in wow how mostly young teenagers would pretend things in gold shire. They were likely both male and it was stupid and a bit offensive if you were there, but it wasn’t really a big issue or harmful.
But here it’s a lot more sinister. A lot more kinks and I have no doubt that kids could potentially be in danger here.
You can’t really control what two people write in messages to each other but they should absolutely be addressing the community finder posts that are popping up. This is a family friendly game.
You: "Do something about ERP! It's sinister and dangerous!"

You want to be let in on a secret?
I haven't read to the ToS and only gave my vague acceptance to it so I could play the game.
It can say whatever it wants and I wouldn't care. If someone has a problem with me they can report me. If SE points me to a rule and says "you're on thin ice now buddy" then, sure, I'll comply. Until that point though, I'm just going to keep trucking along as I have been without caring about a single word in it.
If everyone who broke ToS would be banned overnight I'm sure you'd see most players in this game vanish as if they've been thanos snap'd.
I remember when I was at school before the age of literally everyone having a smartphone with access to the internet at any time, and even then with those older phones I still remember people having adult videos in them and even showing them around, I cant imagine what it must be these days where kids have phones and internet access from way earlier ages.
Not that I see an issue with it, I believe kids should see and be taught the reality of things, not have information hidden from them because of some puritanical insecure reasons some seem to have, or even other subjects, the world is harsh, unfair, broken and full of nuanced problems yet to this day you see people trying to obscure information, generalize and simplify complex situations, spread propaganda tier ideas of how perfectly "the world works" thus leading kids into a false and close minded world views that will only be an obstacle for them later on when they meet the real world that has barely anything in common with the bs they were taught.
The "think of the children" argument is 90% of the time just used as an excuse from some to try censor something they dont like and that is easily proven when they literally dont care about the children's safety or development in any other way which is why it is such an incredibly disingenuous argument which is my main point.
The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.

People can talk about whatever they want for all I care...within reason, of course. There are certain lines that should not be crossed. What you brought up earlier is...odd to say the least, but I try not to judge too harshly. Even so, if I don't like what is being discussed I can just ignore it. At the end of the day it's them taking the risks, not me. I just won't be the one doing the reporting. The fact I could have a pretty 'sexually explicit' conversation in one of the most run dungeons in the game and people either didn't really care or joined in on my nonsense.
The only reason the age rating is as low as they can get away with is to draw in as large of an audience as they can, and while they can't outwardly endorse people doing stuff that goes above that age rating, I'm pretty sure SE has better things to do than police every conversation in the game.
Online interactions aren't rated by a board and the people behind the screen don't really care for it, either. Should you start talking about Thancred's gunblade in the middle of gridania plaza on /shout? No, 'course not you dip, but people in small clusters can, will and should be able to shoot the shit about whatever they please. SE isn't your mother or big brother. If you're an adult, I expect you to have gotten out of your "ew cooties" phase and actually be mature enough to tolerate the concept that people on earth generally procreate to create more humans. Sure, a game like this will never be fully 'private' but this game is also a method for you to meet others with, and a pretty good one at that. Some people are going to be comfortable about talking about the lewds, others won't. Ultimately nobody cares and you really shouldn't either; they don't harm people by virtue of existing. In fact, giving people the leeway to freely talk to each-other about whatever in a private enough sphere is something I can only consider to be a good thing.
It's one thing to want to keep the nudes out of the public eye, which I agree with. Never having a sexually explicit conversation, though? That's unreasonable to ask of both teens and adults.
Heck, you should've heard some of the playground talk I had at around ages 10-12. Wack stuff, I tell you.
have I ever told you I think you're a cool guy, Vahlnir?People can talk about whatever they want for all I care...within reason, of course. There are certain lines that should not be crossed. Even so, if I don't like it I can just ignore it. At the end of the day it's them taking the risks, not me. I just won't be the one doing the reporting.
'cause you're a cool guy.

Thanks! You guys seem like decent people as well. I try my best to be reasonable, though I might not always succeed. Occasionally I do lose my cool but I try not to lose it so much that I risk a ban. lol My tolerance for nonsense is slim to none depending on the day.
