Purchase question

Hi,

i searched the forums but couldn't get a good answer. So forgive me for asking this

I purchased everything till Shadowbringers on the PS5. But occasionally i want to play on PC as well. What do i need to buy on PC and where? I see people telling not to buy on steam which is fine. And i don't really care about the costs involved. All i want to know is what to buy so my experience is the same on PC and i can use my character seamlessly on both platforms.

Steam is fine.

You need the base game and the expansion PC keys. Register them on our mogstation account

There are advantage and disadvantage of getting the Steam Version.

Advantage is that you can use steam wallet funds to buy sub, items from the ingame store and name change.

Disadvantage is that you have to buy the expasion from steam. You can't get it from any other site or retail which means the phyiscal collecters editon is out of the question.

EDIT: Make sure that you buy the version you want since if you buy the non-steam version but deside that you would like to have Steam Wallet as an option then you will be out of luck as you won't be able to add it to your accound as you already have a PC version added.

the bold one is just if you would continue using the pc version and not the consolo one when buying the next expansion

So as i see it now i can buy two versions, on steam (44.99) and on square (39.99). Steam offers some payment advantages.

The downside of also buying on pc means that when endwalker comes out i have to buy both again on pc and console? This is not a season pass thing where the expansions are bound to my profile?

Once you've chosen your platform (PC, Steam or PS4) all the expansions need to be for that platform or they are incompatible.

Suppose you buy only the PC Starter Edition (ARR) right now. Here's what you would be able to do:

• You will be able to play the game on Playstation with no content restrictions.
• If you log out of the Playstation in an ARR area, you will be able to log in on the PC.
• If you log out of the Playstation in a HW, SB, or ShB area, you will not be able to log in on the PC.
• While logged in on PC, you will only be able to enter areas from ARR, and you will only be able to participate in ARR content.
• If you logged out of the Playstation in a HW, SB, or ShB area but you want to log in on the PC, you will have to sign in on the Playstation, move to an ARR area, log out of the Playstation, and then log in on the PC.

Suppose you buy the PC version and expansions now so that both your PS and PC games are fully current. Here's what happens if you only buy Endwalker for PS in the fall:

• You will be able to play the game on Playstation with no content restrictions.
• If you log out of the Playstation in an ARR, HW, SB, or ShB area, you will be able to log in on the PC.
• If you log out of the Playstation in an EW area, you will not be able to log in on the PC.
• While logged in on PC, you will only be able to enter areas from ARR, HW, SB, or ShB, and you will only be able to participate in content from the same.
• If you logged out of the Playstation in an EW area but you want to log in on the PC, you will have to sign in on the Playstation, move to an ARR, HW, SB, or ShB area, log out of the Playstation, and then log in on the PC.

If you can wait until Fall for full PC access, I'd recommend holding off on buying the PC version until Endwalker launch. That way you only have to buy two EWs later instead of a ShB now and two EWs later. If you prefer not to wait, the only thing for it is to make the extra ShB purchase now.



Collector's Edition unlocks are one per account regardless of platform, so you'd only need on CE upgrade per expansion if you wanted CE bonuses.
