    Constant Animation Issues and Rubberbanding

    ISSUE:

    For the past two weeks I've had this issue that's made the game nigh impossible to play - The game will suddenly freeze or lag all animations, and I'll suddenly be completely still, sliding across the screen. I can see cast bars but I can't see aoes, Bosses don't move, I can't see cleaves or anything. This'll happen for roughly 5 seconds, and then it'll stop and every single animation will all of a sudden rubberband.

    About 5 days ago, the issue got worse - overworld music suddenly stopping, menus taking 10+ seconds to load, characters T-posing at aetheryte shards or summoning bells. The frequency of this can be anywhere from every 10 minutes to every hour or two.

    WHAT I'VE DONE THUS FAR

    1. Updated and Restarted my PC
    2. Restarted my modem
    3. Changed ethernet cables
    4. Ensured I was on a stable internet connection - my internet has not changed within the last few weeks
    5. Uninstalled and reinstalled FFXIV
    6. Switched from DX11 to DX9. Thus far, DX9 hasn't had any issues, but it's only been an hour.

    yes, that hasn't solved anything.

    but turns out at the very least, the animation issues were a user-side fix, i got a new router yesterday and nothing's happened there. however, menus are still taking 10+ seconds to load, even cutscenes which i would load into almost immediately are now taking 5-10 seconds each, which doesnt sound like a lot but it adds up when youre in something like prae, causing you to lag behind everyone. overworld music is still suddenly stopping. the frequency of menu-loading issues, cutscene loading issues, and overworld music issues is increasing as well.

    If you have not done so already, could you try the following port forwarding instructions:

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

    Hi, thanks for the help. Apparently my ISP is having massive outages and issues in my area, Coincidentally the very day my problems started occurring. I'm going to wait them out, and if anything changes I'll update this with a sure yes or no on whether this was just ISP issues.
