How many people can fit into each size of a house?

Searched all over, but all I could find is a 3 year old reddit post, so here I am.

Just how many people can be in a house of each size at once?
Noticed small ones tend to overcrowd pretty quickly in case of some events, but didn't had the chance to count how many exactly does it fit.
Saw the info that large one can fit up to 100 people before doors "shut", but I find it hard to believe due to max member count FC can have. And basically no info on medium houses.

Also an interesting question: if an FC house is crowded to it's limit and someone goes into a room of FC member (or workshop), does it still counts toward number of people in the house or does it leave the spot for someone else to enter?

Any insite on the matter is greatly appretiated.

The number of members a FC can have has nothing to do with housing instance limits.

A normal zone has a limit of 300 players (why SE will create multiple instances of some zones for expansion launch and patch releases - more players are going to be using the zones at one time than their normal capacity). Considering the additional quirks of housing because of item placement, 100-150 is probably fairly close to accurate. I remember listening to a podcast including members of a group running one of the RP clubs and one of them mentioned they estimated they had 120 players in their house for one event before no one else could get in though they really couldn't get an accurate count.

If you want to know for certain, you'd need to organize an event and hope those participating patiently follow instructions so you could get a count. Workshops and FC rooms are separate instances so I doubt they'd count against the house limit but I can't be certain of that. If they don't, it would mean anyone in a workshop or FC room would have to teleport out if the house was at its limit because they wouldn't be able to get back into the house proper until some of those in it left.

The game really doesn't handle large number of players at the same location very well. Don't know if you had a chance to participate in any of the Firmament FATEs on your world or if you do hunt trains on reset days or during prime time but the player culling is very real when too many players are at the same location. You'll even see it happen in Limsa sometimes.

It might sound like it would be fun to have 100 players in a house for a big event but I really wouldn't recommend it.

Also, if we talk about Roes in their glory would be like a nuclear house. For safety, would not be good to place so much power in one place.
Now, if we talk about how much lalas we can stock there in sacks... hmmmm...

Yeah, I've noticed game have a hard time rendering a lot of people in more open spaces (not only people, even mobs, hunt trains and that one Ixion FATE when I never even saw the boss is forever in my mind), but closed quarters seemed somewhat different? Guess not.
Why I'm asking is, there was already a precedents of big enough events where everyone willing to go was invited, but the house coudn't fit all the participats, so a lot of them was stuck outside and missed all the fun. It does seem to depend on the house size, cuz small ones fill up a lot quicker. And as my FC is planning to hold a similar event, we figured it would be nice to know how many people our medium house can fit in. Guess I'll think about an experiment of some sorts to figure out the exact number.

    Thanks for the answer tho!

That "hard time" is actually by design. The game puts a cap on how many characters (players or enemies) it can load at once in order to keep the game running a bit more efficiently.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

You can pass through other characters, so theoretically all characters on the server could stand in the exact same spot

Yeah, I know that. I just wish enemies took a priority in this case. >_>

That doesn't change the fact there's a limit on how many people can be in the house at once.

Got an answer for this, in case someone wondered.

No, people in rooms or workshop doesn't count towards the number of people in the house. Trying to exit rooms while house is full teleports you to the outside.

From personal experience of going to huge house events, 100 seems to be the cap of players and the cap is the same be the house small, medium or large.
