Request: Please update the character creator!

I think the only thing I personally really feel underwhelmed about other than non Miqo'te facial features is how lean they make Hrothgar's muscle definition with no way to adjust.
We get all these beasts in the game with exaggerated definitions, enemies or just beast races, and even original Ronso are like that, and when they make the playable beast race they barely have visible abs. "They have fur" isn't really an excuse when Ronso are a counter argument yet again, not counting other creatures. And speaking of muscle definition, it's kind of dumb a lot of playable races don't get the slider any way.

That's an interesting view, I always thought hrothgars have the most defined abs of all races, because they are drawn on while other races depend on being on the max slider and catching the light on a certain way to make a shadow. I wish muscles on other races looked similar personally.

I would have liked if they stood upright, rather than hunched over- but I agree with you

I agree but I also know SE won't do any of this. we have been asking for more options for years to no avail.

It was always odd to me that final fantasy as a series has memorable & wonderful character designs yet the character creator in FFXIV is very limited.
We should at least be able to wear more than one face paint by now.
(And people have been asking for body sliders for ages as well.)

If anything out of all of the requests are ignored but we were allowed to only have 1 be implemented; it would be for me, More than 1 wearable face paint at a time. It drives me up the wall we can only wear 1

I don't see how wanting more character creation options is related to over-sexualization of player characters in a Korean MMO. People already do that enough with the options they have available to varying degrees for better or worse. I don't judge.

So, I guess we can have boob sliders...but NOT a butt slider!! Because that’s over-sexualization and FFXIV will suddenly be like a Korean MMO!!!!

Aside from the fact that people have been asking for things like muscle sliders on ALL races and not just some. Not just butt sliders.


I’m all for more character customization. I’d rather that over a new race. Upgrade the textures on the older races (because Viera and Au Ra do have better textures compared to the OG races), add some more options like muscle sliders, a butt slider (why not, we can already adjust the size of our boobs so), and allow us more than one face paint. Just to name a few. Idk why my character can have a facial tattoo, but only if she doesn’t put eye shadow or blush on!

(While we’re at it, I’d move more tattoo options—including body tattoos. I know the chance is low because blah blah Yakuza references blah blah, but would be nice.)

Being able to wear more than 1 face paint isn't over stylized or sexualized- if you don't agree with updates, perhaps make a thread suggesting it

And tell people in FFXIV to stop wearing skimpy clothing or 2B butt, since those players fall into the demographic of having over-sexualized characters- they should go back to a korean MMO, right?

This thread is meant to be positive & suggest good things for an otherwise, very out dated character creator
