    I agree turrets are just as alien and lateral as Wildfire, while 4.0 crossed them over 5.0 fragmented it to be easier and it does not play well. Never feels good to use queen cuz it’s so shallow and toothless. This must be addressed in 6.0 and I’ll take literally anything. But among MCH many issues right now one of them is job identity. It’s not selfish DPS, it’s not Ranged support, it’s not a Gunner class, it’s not a pet job. What the hell is it? With its “rousing success” the job will most likely have minimal changes and will have then mains feel the scourge of stagnation. Ball-in-a-cup is only fun for so long

    I guess my big issue is just the overreliance on, as you said, novelty (or visual flair) in place of any and all other means of engagement.

    As much as I miss the more grounded, Gunner-esque aspects of MCH (and would like to limit the Stormblood-introduced arsenal-teleporting gun-fu to a CD burst phase), there's a ton we could do with Drill, Air Anchor, Bioblaster, Flamethrower, and the like, if they weren't just reskins for absolutely generic ST/AoE potency attacks.

    I almost wish XIV would invite players to play-test toolkits with minimal visuals (intuitive, geometric tells and the like, but zero flair). Are they still fun even then? Then you've got a success. If not, you need to work on that until you can meet that goal.

    Tbf, Battery gauge at present is even worse. It has no unique concerns or playflow; it's just a Automaton Queen CD that is uniquely denied its first use (enters the fight having just been placed on cooldown) and is uniquely screwed over by downtime if faced within 30 seconds of your last Air Anchor cast. Bloated UI just to provide unique weaknesses... Yay!?
