Sastasha has some long treasure paths. You may not know that because everyone ignores them and rushes to the end.

So does Tam-Tara, Copperbell Mines, Halatali, The Thousand Mows of Toto-Rak, Haukke Manor, Brayflox's Longstop, The Sunken Temple of Qarn, The Stone Vigil and Dzemael Darkhold.

Everyone just rushes efficiently to the end so they stopped bothering.

This might work in content where people are there for the loot, but outside of glamour items people really only run dungeons for tomestones.
What kind of treasure did you have in mind that wouldn't conflict with the "get it done and on to the next roulette" attitude?

It's much harder to balance older content with using new abilities that weren't around when said content was created.

World of Warcraft does this with its Time Walking. It's a complete disaster. It's either faceroll easy or harder than what the original content was like when it came out. Balance is just to hard to do.

I cannot see them doing that, but I could see them giving every class an AoE at level 15

Which is why I always thought that doing something similar to the bonus chest system in 1.X would be way more effective than just trying to un-hallwaysim-fy dungeons and expect players not to ignore paths.

Even with a bonus chest system, not everyone would care about getting those chests. Their modern dungeon layout system is definitely one thing I fully support about FFXIV and I hope it remains.

Not everyone cares about poetics either, and yet MSQ roulette gets people often just for sake of their daily poetics.
Give rewards that are long lasting and more often than not people will go after them.

Easy, half the reward tome come from Chests.

Basically this. Take a level 80 player that double or triple weaves with a lvl 80 tool kit soon to be a lvl 90 tool kit and put them in with a sprout and you might as well tell the sprout to hang out by the entrance to the dungeon for 5 minutes. You would be getting 6 hits in for every 1 they get.

Just do the math of how many abilities at lvl 80 you can get off while waiting for the 2.5 sec GCD

And yet MSR is off by itself as its own roulette instead of being with the 50/60/70 roulette. And there are only two objectives in MS roulette: exp and tomestones. And even then, people skip on praetorium enemies so you're not even getting the full exp you can get.

You can have multiple people joining in together to any dungeon with different objectives. "More often than not" is not a good enough odds to potentially divide a group on which paths to take in a dungeon.
