Yes it's Hrothgar.
I think they wanted to emphasize the race since the last event had a reward that was literally useless for Hrothgar and Viera.

Honestly, I'm disappointed already. Figured I might as well be early on and save SE the trouble. So people log on after the event goes live, do the 10 minute quest, then spend 2 weeks running around in chicken costumes? Oh yeah and there's an egg decoration added to the seasonal vendor as an afterthought. I miss the egg hunts from the first couple years; why they don't include the best parts of each year into future iterations to build these events into truly memorable and fulfilling experiences it's just... I don't get it. So once again, the event goes live, log on, do the quest, then forget it all ever happened... Are players really okay with that?

I'm curious... how do you know how the event is going to play out without having done the event...?
I'm not saying its not a likely prediction, but who knows?
I've been (positively) surprised by some of the last Hatching-Tide events - despite not liking the theme all that much.
