This is pretty much the reason I quit raiding, except I was the flaky person. I had a nice static for the first half of Omega but after getting a new job with unpredictable work hours it just wasn't worth it anymore. Having to constantly explain myself to strangers on the internet and worry about my schedule would have been draining. I'm not sure whether my former static had trouble replacing me. Hopefully not, but I also wouldn't feel guilty about leaving if they did. Real life comes first.

Flaking to me's always been like "oh we got a trial, we spent time going over performance, we accepted them and they were down" and then next raid night they never show up. And then we never see/hear from them ever again until I find them in Eureka a tier later by coincidence. Kinda sucks since it wastes an entire block of time we all set aside to do something together, and just feels generally disrespectful to our own time for waiting to see if they were late and getting 0 response, and then spending 1hr pugging in PF, and then just quitting for that night.

For our group in Sigma/Alphascape it was always ranged phys @.@

I think I have gotten more flaky, or fickle, over the years, but when I commit to something I over-commit. As in, I'll do things I don't want to do as if I was obligated to do it. So I just don't commit to anything instead, like guilds, player events, etc.
