It wouldn't surprise me though. They can't figure out how to make the AI smart.
And it was based on a statement made about egi glamour, and how pets are problematic.
At this point, it's more speculations than rumors. Meaning it's not as valuable just completely different.
We expected Egi-glamour 6 years earlier, when asked Yoshida answered "Something something SMN is at a breaking point stay tuned something something".
When reading that, the most obvious reaction would be thinking the gummy looking Egi will be removed from the game.
Then you have mentions about how "Reaper is not a pet job like MCH" so you can assume aswell that pets might not be removed. But again MCH is an exception as the pet is a glorified dot.
Reaper feels like it has much more interactions with the avatar and would love to see MCH following that direction.
Soooooooo... Wait and see.
People also tend to ignore the full quote regarding Egi Glamours:
Bold for emphasis there. Egi Glamours are still something that will happen eventually, it's just been shelved for the time being. We don't know what aspects of SMN are currently being worked on, people just immediately jumped to "they're removing Egis!" because Egi Glamours got shelved and Pet AI is terrible which makes it an obvious mechanic to axe. I figure the Egis are here to stay if only to stop people from rioting, but the Pet AI might just be scrapped with all attacks coming from the SMN itself. Best of both worlds there, no Pet AI jank and people keep their Carbies.Currently summoner as a job is reaching somewhat of a breaking point when it comes to the overall play mechanics, so we’ve halted work on Egi glamour for the time being in order to shift focus.
Personally I'd rather see more temp summons that are powerful as dps CDs.
But that's just me. Invoking the raw power of a primal.
Yes, thank you. I hope it doesn't change too much if at all.
People who think it's too complex can just play RDM instead, don't take away our fun. ;P
If they just reverted some jobs it'd be nice.
As for tanks, I'd just say that fight design is a big issue. There are too many pieces of mitigation for far few too many TBs. I know they don't really care about this, given the way that they've created the '25s' CDs, but by god make me think about how I'm going to handle a fight as opposed to making me sit there gormlessly mashing baby's first GCD rotation while my fingers start to atrophy into graying lumps of jerky. This jerky then disintegrates into dust, slowly but surely, and by the time I'm at the end of a fight as WAR the last two neurons in my skull fight to the death to cannibalize one another after the rest of them died in a tragic carbon monoxide accident. I'd go on, but I think you get the point.
Oh right, this is DPS roles. Uh.
Keep BLM as-is, it's identity and rotation is well-defined. Maybe update to FV and BV. (no rework, visuals only)
SMN has too many pieces, feels weird, why did we have to go from StB SMN to this? Feels desync-y but I get why people like it. (minor rework, going to stay mostly the same as opposed to SCH)
RDM is gonna stay the same. (no changes. Will go BLM status in terms of being the same forever and ever.)
DRG idk, don't play it, seems a little boring perhaps? You just add more steps to the same thing with no variation. (no change)
MNK HW MNK but with fewer oGCDs kinda suck eh. But I loved tk rot. (Maybe big change?)
SAM ditto BLM I guess.
DNC/MCH/BRD please dissolve the R.Phys role and like, create a fun reason to play these perhaps. Some of the wonkiest stuff in the game. (realistically, no change)
SCH don't play, feels kinda eh, I feel like it's working harder than you need to compared to like. 4.0/4.1. (big change, will be changed AWAY from smn)
AST don't play, I dropped my cards and now I can't play rnjesus prayer 2 electric boogaloo. (no change)
WHM DO play, but it kinda feels empty. Trade some healing tools for some sort of offensive fun svp. (No change)

One day I'll be the MT mountain I want to be... But that day is not today. (As of Patch 3.2)
With the job decision, it has nothing to do with complexity, more playstyle. I'm personally just not interested in RDM being melee as often as it is, I play a caster to cast from a range, and BLM is too turret and not fun to me in progs since you need to rather know the fight and just doesn't mesh with my playstyle, so SMN is largely my only option when it comes to being a caster. So I'm personally embracing the changes since obviously they too think it needs some overhauling. That said, who knows if they don't just create a NEW problem haha. It just often feels clunky or awkward, but maybe it's not a MASSIVE overhaul, just Pet AI, egi assaults, enkindle and how aetherpact functions. Which I'd welcome.
They could also just make BLM a bit less turret dps and more "new player friendly" in terms of being able to reposition or easier to learn for prog fights and I'd be happy for that too. I remember seeing something about yoshi-p saying it feels mostly complete so they may do something new now. Can't remember how they said it. They probably won't though. Rotation wise and such I enjoy BLM. Just would like more instant casts so I can have more OGCD's SLIGHTLY like 1 or 2, maybe with a redesign to scathe.
I’m upset we are still getting new jobs when most of them have glaring issues. I’d prefer the next expansion streamline and rejuvenate the jobs rather than adding more with their own personal issues. I’d wager most jobs will stagnate hard this upcoming expansion and or shrink to better fit the casual friendly narrative of Gameplay and learning the hard way, when you try to please everyone no one is satisfied
They've reworked almost every job massively each expansion, what are you on about?I’m upset we are still getting new jobs when most of them have glaring issues. Now whether they reworked them for the better is a different matter entirely, but jobs have never been stagnant (with very few unfortunate exceptions).
