I never said it was. But it isnt Normal or realistic either.
You get more room on Summon weapons they are essentially purely magical weapons. But you can't just make every weapon like that. There has to be some standard of normality. Especially when every other class gets relatively normal looking weapons. PGL shouldn't be forced to look like a joke.
Bro none of them are realistic, none of them are suited for real combat whats why we are playing a game if you wanna play RL go outside. Damn Jinko was right they all are on our server -.-
I'd very much like to see some drawn designs of some of these "better looking" weapons that people are going on about.
I, myself, happen to like the design of everything that was shown... but maybe I'm just shallow and lack ingenuity.
Those of you with issues pertaining to the new weapons, do you have anything to show to describe the types of things you would like to see in game?
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?
I am not complaining about the looks, I think they all look great. What I am questioning is their stats, which for the most part have all flopped badly on all the Disciple of Magic weapons.I'd very much like to see some drawn designs of some of these "better looking" weapons that people are going on about.

Your right, a retractable sword is not in any way realistic, but atleast when it is out it looks like a sword.
PGL literally get a Cube that expands in to a bigger cube. How can you defend this in any way?
Why didn't GLA get a Cube with a hilt?
Why isn't that planet in the Staff a Cube?
Why isn't the MRD axe just a friggin Cubed sledge hammer?
These PGL weapons are hideous and lazy and quite literally a joke. No other class has to put up with a joke for a weapon. Why should Pugilists? It is the epitome of unfair.
Every H2H weapon below level 50 looks better than All of the level 50 weapons.
I'm not an Artist, I have no intention of attempting to Draw SE a picture of how to make a pair of Brass knuckles. But even I could do better than a Cube that becomes a bigger cube.
I don't know why, I found this so funny.Your right, a retractable sword is not in any way realistic, but atleast when it is out it looks like a sword.

This, I agree with being a mage main myself. And you're right, those strange "chance of gaining mp back" and "chance of inflicting fire damage" stats are pretty silly for Magery tools. Doesn't really make sense because most of the time we're trying to keep our weapons put away in hopes of gaining MP back on the fly and what-have-you.
I guess they don't want us to feel left out in the event that we decide to bash something, but every mage worth their salt knows that those types of events are few and far in-between. They really should re-evaluate those types of things as no body is going to be knee to knee with Ifrit trying to whack him in the event that they'll earn a couple of points of MP back, Vulcan Burst would pretty much be the end-all, be all to that little plan.
Either way, I'm not sure what to suggest as they have other weapons that give other stats and those other stats such as "Inflicting fire damage" and "chance of regaining mp" on hit seem to be extras or something. Were they to add like Magic Crit then they would be "negating" a totally other weapon altogether... I think.
Maybe they just threw those in for shiggles... they are just "chances" after all.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

Now i'm not responding saying the have to be plain or simple. But i prefer things designed more like these then say some (SOME) of the Guardia weapons (Bow for example, Guradia and the planned crafted Lance.
I mentioned it quickle in my last post, but i'll say it outright. Some (SOME) Guardia weapons look like FF14's take on Wow's weaponry. thats what i see in some ways.

I can't say I see the WoW comparisons >_> I think we're starting to manifest similarities that don't exist. They look like final fantasy weapons; I can't be the only person who's played the console rpgs, and if you have played them, then nothing here is outside of SE's usual taste for weaponry. SE has always produced normal weapons, fancy gadget weapons, gag/lol weapons, and "wtf is this" weapons. Always. I am surprised as to why anyone is so shocked at the weapons being churned out now: they are totally SE and final fantasy flavor. When has final fantasy NOT had weapons like that? The 8bit generation?
