Why am I typically last priority for Main Scenario roulettes??

Groups get priority over a single person. Always been this way. Then it gets to Tanks and Healers because those are in shorter supply then DPS.

So if you join a queue at reset by yourself and a bigger group joins a queue they get priority over you. And if it's say 2 DPS they just need to match up with a Healer and Tank instead of DPS. And if you are a DPS those slots are already filled.

No they don't. Groups don't get priority at all.
The duty finders priority is making full groups. If it can do so it will pull from the front of the queue every time.

In the case if your example. 2 dps queueing together will not immediately jump to the front of the queue just because they're a party. If there's 10 tanks 50 dps and no healers for a roulette and you and friend join the queue as dps. You will be numbers 51 and 52 in the dps queue. The only way you'd take priority is with a healer. As that is the role the duty finder needs to complete a group.

and as said earlier in the thread groups can often find them selves waiting longer in the queue than people queing solo.

Right. It will fill the queue with whatever it needs whenever it needs it.
