Major changes needed for housing

I just see that people don't want apartments and SE doesn't have any plan to improve apartments so people want to have apartments.

Except SE has talked about improving apartments. We just don't know if they've done any work on it and when we might see those improvements in game if they have.

Personally I suspect apartment improvements might have been put on the back burner while they focused on Island Sanctuary. Some seem to feel it will be a partial solution to housing demand. Instead I think it's going to make things worse as players expect to have their Island Sanctuary on top of housing.

Maybe they have, but so far, it's always just been about new wards or new residences. We'll see if there is ever any change.

Speaking of that, why do people assume there will be some sort of housing related to Island Sanctuary? Was it said in an interview somewhere or is it similar to a feature in FFXI?

I didn't play FFXI, so the closest thing I could compare it to is probably WoW's garrison, except without tying it power progression or making any specific building.

It was not said in an interview.
As far as I can tell it is simply wishful thinking.

It's people jumping to conclusions. YoshiP said in an interview that Island Sanctuary was inspired by Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon type games. Since those usually have a house the player can customize, some took it to mean that Island Sanctuary will have housing as well. SE doesn't gain anything by withholding that information if it was included so it's extremely unlikely housing is part of Island Sanctuary. There's always a chance they could keep reworking the concept in the future (just as they kept reworking the original Diadem concept into Eureka and finally Bozja) until housing becomes part of it but that would make little sense when SE already has two other housing systems (wards and apartments) in the game to utilize.

WoW Garrison is exactly what I think of when I review what was said about Island Sanctuary.
Personal instance? Check.
Able to grow things? Check.
Minions (companion pets) able to run around? Check.
Mostly solo content? Check.
Garrisons didn't have "animal raising" but the Barn was an option for medium plots that would yield hides and meat (why else would we raise animals?).

I do not want to see the Garrison disaster repeated here.
