Again, if you did research you'd know the chances of it popping before the 8 hour mark are extremely slim. Like, extremely.

And again, you are choosing to take that chance in hoping for it to pop early, no one is forcing you to do so. You feeling some need to stand there all day is your own choice. Like I said, you can keep an eye on the plot and go back and visit it whenever you want so you can still be productive with your own day and avoid burning yourself out. It's not a hard concept. The only person making you stand there all day endlessly clicking is yourself. I gave you legit advice that homeowners use to make camping easier. Up to you to take it or continue using the time you have every day to stand at a placard. I can think of better things to do with mine while keeping an eye on a plot I'm interested in.

So while buying through the placard is unavoidable, standing there all day is completely avoidable. You can easily walk away and come back later and get the plot. It's done all the time.

So, where can I find out how long a plot has been open after it's demo'ed or abandoned?

Cause if I can't find that out after finding an open plot then how do I know if it's been 2 hours or 8??? :O

There are discords with people who can help you determine an estimation based off the devaluation timer and how much the plot currently costs. There are discords where people post plots that have popped and their times across all servers. I've said this already. I literally belonged to 4 at one point.

How I got one of my plots i just checked every hour I was on gave it a few clicks and left. Sooner or later I got my plot. Never camped for any plot and have many over the years.

Sounds like camping. If you're dedicating yourself to multiple discords and sleuthing for any information you can get on houses it still counts as camping, if in a different way.

The hole I see is that no matter how you dress it up if you are using a substantial amount of time to get a plot, whether through the frustrating, but far more certain method of placard sitting for hours or hunting through discords and chats for times and estimates and tipoffs, counting on the good graces of others who are likely after the exact same thing as you (commendable if it works for you and not against you), it still requires a great deal of effort and luck.

And you have no choice. That's the only way it can be done. That's housing mechanics.

And? How many others were hunting the same plot? A single competitor who is willing to do that "unnecessary camping thing" guarantees your failure.

Sure, some people win the lottery by just casually snagging an open plot, but the odds are not in your favor.

It's laughable to suggest this method when players are openly using click macros to help. Indeed, if you've played for years then odds are you'll get lucky at some point, but wow, what a terrible way to try for a house in the near future.

How is what I did camping? I just check when I was already playing the game. I did not log in just to see if the house was open or anything. Even if I saw people I would get my clicks and move on. By mechanic we mean SE intended for people to stay up for 14 hours clicking, I highly doubt that was their intent but sadly they really do not understand western MMO players all that well.

I have won a plot with other present it is not a matter of how many clicks the only click that matters Is the one that gets the plot. If people want to camp go for it but to say it is intended to camp for hours does not seem true. It may foster that mindset due to the timers and limits but meh that is a player choice.

God forbid you have to put in effort to get things in life and any activity you participate in. You're looking for a hand out/no effort way to get what you want and that's just pure laziness at that point.

I say it's a mechanic due to the fact that SE has NOT changed it nor do they seem to have any PLAN to change it. It's working as SE intended by all available evidence with no effective alternative to have the best odds of getting a house amongst any competition at all.

The only argument that it is not a mechanic is that nobody is holding a gun to your head to make you do it, which is no argument at all.

To suggest that SE didn't see this coming is to suggest that SE is composed of window-licking moonpies, possible but not probable. To suggest that SE STILL doesn't understand the result which is why that haven't done anything is to be completely blind to the truth.

Just because has not changed it does not mean they do not have a desire to do so. They have limitations to work around and maybe in there eyes this is the best way with the tools they have. They have already said a few times forgot when that they are not happy with the current system and are looking into ways to make it better.

Lack of change does not support the notion of intent inherently. I get you feel camping is the only way but it really is not.
