New player from Anarchy Online \O/

Hi. I'm new to FFXIV, actually new to any SE game. I was very active in Anarchy Online for about 7 years, but it's time for a change.

So far I've solo'd my CNJ to 34, but I'd like to get into some group stuff, and actually have some people to chat with here. I'm used to a regional ooc type chat system, this one makes the game feel very empty so I assume I'm just missing out on something (Linkshell?)

anyway, I was 90% pvp, and 10% into raiding in AO, but since there's no pvp here (yet?) I'm hoping to find some pro's to help me figure this stuff out.

I'm a casual gamer sometimes, and sick hardcore grinder others, so I have no idea where i fit, lol.

I don't expect it to be AO. but from looking at the incoming changes, and the attitude of the guy in charge, it looks promising.

Don't listen to them, we already sucked the game dry. For someone starting to play, the game is pretty good. :P

haha, I know that feeling ^^ . and I don't listen, I've looked at every part of this game, from the failures to the propos..err, promised changes, and it looks like a monster. I like to commit to games for a long time, so I'm pretty careful about what I spend my time and money on. I'm really excited about the future of pvp here, and being around while the crazy class balancing happens. (it's always funny)

Woo Anarchy Online! Boy I remember the launch of that game, was pretty bad, complex ass systems and all at the time. Came back a few years later and fell in love, now the game is a ghost town and not even worth my money. D:
