Please, please have battle effects turn completely off for Pvp by default. Nothing is more frustrating than losing the healer in constant flashes of light.

It's excessive in just about every aspect of the game if I'm completely honest, but it absolutely has no place in Pvp.

If you are masochistic enough to want it on in Pvp then the players can turn it back on, but for the love of all you hold dear turn it off by default.

I created 2 macros a while back. Back when a mass of people would cause mobs and players to vanish.

First:
/battleeffect self all
/battleeffect party simple
/battleeffect other off

Second:
/battleeffect self all
/battleeffect party all
/battleeffect other all

But didn't you just find how to turn them off? I'm trying to see the point of the thread, tho... It's not like something really hard to find out. I believe you can even create macros to enable/disable them so you don't have to go through the menus every time.

No, no I appreciate you telling me in Alliance chat yesterday how to. I used to have them turned off completely, but I think my settings didn't get saved. But for me and my friends first foray into Pvp the effects made learning what to actually do to help your team a lot and I mean a lot harder with the effects turned on.

Also I appreciate your call outs when we were pvping with you.

The point of the thread is that "other players" battle effect can't be hidden in PvP.

No they can. We turned them off completely and it was fine. It's just having them on by default is kinda antithetical to pvping in the sense that you can't see what is happening. At one point a whole group was masked by a White Mage Holy spamming. We noticed everyone pulled back but we couldn't see and rushed in and fed the other team.

Really your name seems familiar. I want to say someone with a R name from the Mateus server was doing pvp call outs all last night in Rival Wings. I must be mistaken then sorry for the confusion.
