    Quite the opposite in fact.

Wildstar's "Gold or Bust" era was a prime contributor to its downfall. The game's instanced content had a team success rating: Gold, Silver, Bronze. The rewards for anything less than Gold weren't worth the bother and all it took was a single death or people getting hit by a one or two mechanics. So people started abandoning failed instances. It took far too long for Carbine to make adjustments and their population bled out.

I feel like they ought to do something to encourage people to play better so they're not met with a rude awakening when people start criticizing or just replacing them when they attempt to move into harder content but are simply not pulling the numbers required, but considering that they removed one of the only progression walls in the form of the MSQ duty DPS checks it seems like they'd rather let performance continue to be a strictly player-enforced endeavor.

There is actually a Duty Recorder feature, although I haven't used it.

    2) A checkbox progress meter based on key mechanics the boss does. This is more of a personal record so you know what specific mechanic you've survived past. It's not perfect, but I'd love to be able to know how many more checkboxes there are before the enrage hits on each fight. They could even have ??? next to the ones you haven't seen yet.
You may as well just google it. Someone will have a list pretty quickly.

They don't work the same way and the whole point of having the ingame checklist is to NOT have to go googling. What exactly do you do when you don't have google? Guess we go pen and paper and then post a video so others can know? We're making up for features that we actively need and don't have. Plus they don't show the hidden markers on the existing replay feature, plus the replay feature is not easily discoverable so that also hurts it a lot. And no, saying "well you should google it" does not help this argument as that just proves it isn't discoverable.

FYI, this is about post your ideas for what they can add (or I guess fix if they have it) to help with raiding. It's not "lets criticize and shoot down each other", which seems to be a trend at the moment. I swear it's like festivus right now on the forums.

No, we don't need DPS meters at all.
Hell, we already have enrage mechanics. If you don't kill the boss fast enough then you wipe. Easy.

They are never going to add a DPS meter to the game, because then they officially has let out that it is ok to shame people for their DPS whether it is good or bad or ok... or just enough....

THEY are never ever ever gonna do that, it would be a horrible PR stunt to do, and they may even end removing the current logs that logs onto your system of what you do to prevent 3rd party software logging, if it keeps going like this, as if often goes.

That's the kind of mentality that DPS meters cause. The "weak link" in a party will get shamed or yelled at because they didn't smash buttons fast enough for X or Y reason.

If someone isn't pulling their weight, they are not entitled to clear, it's bull that the rest of their party has to waste time wiping and being held back because someone isn't playing at a savage level in savage content.

That's the deal we all signed up for when doing savage. I just think that having more tools that actively assist in learning mechanics would be beneficial and avoid encouraging the elitism that kind of plagued WoW. DPS meters do have a place, but it's actually kind of narrow in the grand scheme of things. You still have to hit Enrage first or at least get that far before really gauging peoples performance. People aren't going to waste strength tinctures on mechanics during learning, and for DPS I would bonk them on the head if they are trying to max deeps when learning a fight. Learn the damn fight, then max deeps. You can't max deeps if you don't even know where to stand yet, and thank goodness they don't have mini-enrage timers...

Wait... E8S had the add phase... oh noes...
