    Sunseeker Miqo'te Tia/Nunh Challenge Question!

I'm working on my Sunseeker Miqo'te's background and I had a thought. A thought that I couldn't really find a good answer for, not on the forums or on Reddit or other roleplay sites.

We know that there are only tia and nunh in the Sunseeker tribes. Any tia can become a nunh by challenging the nunh and succeeding in combat (which may or may not be to the death). And, according to the official naming conventions post, tia may leave their tribe and challenge the nunhs of other tribes to become the nunh there.

So my question is: in such an instance where a tia from one tribe challenges the nunh of another and he succeeds, does he then take the tribe name of the tribe he's now taken over breeding rights to? Or would he keep his initial birth tribe name and any children he sires after takes his tribe name from then on? I can't imagine the women of the tribe would be very happy with the latter, but it's possible, given that Sunseekers are patriarchal.

Example: let's say M'zhet Tia from Gyr Abania travels to Thanalan and challenges U'odh Nunh in Forgotten Springs and wins. Would M'zhet become U'zhet, or would he keep his name and any children he has with the U tribe women be M' children?

Fernehalwes suggests that when a tia becomes a nunh by way of acquiring hunting territory for his original tribe instead of by right of combat, he would keep the tribe name he had from birth. But I'm unsure whether or not this would apply to the idea of "acquiring hunting territory by force" or if it's just straight-up assimilation into/with another tribe. I hope all of this makes sense.

Thanks for any insight you can provide o/

I don't think it's ever been asked or answered, but I want to know as well. I have a couple of Seeker characters and I want to understand exactly where they're coming from - can make it up of course, but in an evolving story there's always a risk of it being shot down later.

Until we get any canon answer, I'm assuming that males take on the name of the tribe they join, whether by directly winning the role of nunh or by joining the tribe as a tia - e.g. M'zhet at the end of his storyline (except he already has the same letter he would be switching to) and possibly the two tias from the U tribe who don't seem to be U'odh Nunh's sons as they don't mention it and don't look like him. But that's entirely speculative.
